 Well Marauderers exhaust experts Today I visit a muffler shop looking for advice due to recomendation of my mechanic is critic to changethe mufflers and most important the catalitic converters my Panther have the Original ones since it left the production line to be transported to the dealers ( too old ) Well the muffler guy explain me the process to upgrade the existing exhaust to the new modified exhaust.

1-Remove the old 4 OEM cats and install a pair of Magnaflow cats.
2-Upgrade the H style of tubing for X tubing style.
3-Eliminate the joints of the H tubes to convert it in complete tubes.
4- The OEM H tube are different size as the tails and tubes coming from the lower cats the upgrading X tubing will be modified in wide as the tail and the rest tubing ( 2-1/4).

He told me that I will note a difference, Hp increase and more quicker response.

Suggestions are welcome plus I will post pics of the existing exhaust in BP74I. Thanks for the time to read as always mangs. :burnout:

Sounds like solid advice.

Yeh, that sounds about right. Basically, you have to follow the philosophy of removing as much backpressure as you can (since you don't have long-tube headers, much less tuned-length long-tube headers, all you really need to worry about is reducing restrictions), and smoothing out rough bends in the exhaust line as well as getting rid of exhaust diameter reductions to keep a consistent diameter from the manifold back will be the best way to go. A 2.5" diameter dual exhaust system would do perfect for your SOHC engine.

The only thing I'd take time to make a special note on is that while yes, you'll see a gain in power and throttle response, don't expect it to feel like a super-powerful new car. Definitely worth it, but you won't be dropping major time in the 1/4 mile, you know? ;)

Oh, plus it should sound pretty awesome afterwards. :D
