Any suggestion on which battery to get? I've noticed the engine has been turning over slower while starting. I know it is cold and that happens this time of year, but the battery is from late 2004. I think I got my moneys worth.
Recommendations please?

If you got more than your moneys worth, why not stick with a great thing?

Unless you have a big stereo or something else added to the car then I'd consider an optima....

I got 92 months out of my original battery so I replaced it with the same Motorcraft BXT-65-650. They also have the 750 and the 850 if you need more Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). Same form, fit and size as the OEM.

Napa batteries are Deka's. at least in my neck of the woods.
I use a Deka AGM in my MM. No liquids.

Never had a problem with Red/Yellow top Optima batteries....accidentially left headlights and interior lights on over night(8+ hrs) and cranked normally while they were still on. In this area, I prefer a lil overkill for peace of mind. Plus don't have to upgrade if adding accessories/stereos.

I've always had very good luck with Motorcraft
Motorcraft, Napa (on the west coast), Interstate, and Sears/Diehard are all made by Johnson Controls. However Ford seems to spec out the best quality as I've seen many last 7,8 or 9 years and it is not nearly as common to see that with the Interstate and Sears units, and Napa (on the west coast) hasn't been supplied by JC for that long, not that they are bad batteries. No real experience with Deka as they just aren't commonly available around here. When the OE battery gives up the ghost in my 03 it will get another Motorcraft while the lesser vehicles in my fleet will get Napa since I can get them at a better price, since my brother manages a Napa store.
Stay away from Exide that is the previous supplier for Napa and many private label brands. The high warranty claims rate on Exide is why Napa switched to JC around here.

I agree with mercguy04 odyssey batteries are the best but expensive but the sears Diehard Platinum is the same as adyssey and a lot better priced it also is a dry cell battery and has been torture tested like crazy look at these links. First is price and info second is the tests they do also you can go on you tube.

I went the OEM route Charlie - hard to argue with 9 years of trouble free service! I was cranking a little slow like you - replace it before you damage the alternator and/or starter.

I went with the Autocraft gold series from Advance auto it has 1000/850 CA. You can hear the differance in cranking power, hope it last as long as the OEM battery.

Mine was cranking slow for a few days before it quit. Did the search and there were a few battery question threads. I went with Motorcraft after having had the original for 7+ years troublefree performance.
Haven't had good luck with my Optima redtop in the Vette. 1st one failed within a few months.

I got about the same out of mine, then bought another one just like it.

Fantastic response, thanks! I will go for the Motorcraft OEM replacement. My needs are basically stock - with a slight bump in demand from the sub-woofer, boost-a-pump and added gauges.
Now the search begins for the best price!

I'm sticking with motorcraft when the time comes. Still have the oem battery and going strong (knocking on wood)!

Maybe they are pricey...overpriced? Overhyped? Not sure.
But...I have always been very pleased with the Optima Yellow Top batteries I have put in almost every car I have had for the last many years...never had a problem.
I was just looking at them online today in fact...for my '04 DTR...and will get one when funds allow.
