Welcome to MM.net.
Good start. Maybe later you'll decide to upgrade to a Rauder.

I was looking at those long and hard before I found my 'rauder.
Rationale?
P71 - $4000 for a clean one @ <100K Miles
Wheels and Tires from Tire Rack - $1500
Tune, gears, intake and pullies - $1000
PAINT - $$$
Interior - $$
Dash replacement - $
New rear seat so my daughter could have a cup holder - ???
Seemed insane despite the entry fee. But I understand completely where you are coming from in this approach.
Keep us posted. And Welcome from another newb.

One day, possibly. For now I can live with a CVPI. Pleanty of uumph, great room, and probably gets as many looks as the Merc, albeit for different reasons.

Paid $1700 OTD for the Vic 98k even, granted its only a 2V but I can work with that, wheels/tires; I might go with the stock Marauder wheels but who knows, paint is easy as that is what I do, interior, back seat is near new as the local PD use the ABS plastic molded ones. I mean yeah, it won't be a true Marauder but I like the satifaction of building it how I want it, true it may cost more but that is the price I don't mind paying.

LOVE THE COLOR . They don't pull you over for the white and black colors ? I know in Ma/RI cops have been pulling p71 owners over for colors and spot lights . but anyway welcome to the site.

Nope, they don't bug me, most that I come across tell me something along the line of nice car, as soon as I get the time and extra funds I plan on respraying it either completely gloss black or two tone it gloss black from the belt line down and semi gloss up.

Welcome.
Every state is different in regards to black and white ex-cop cars from what I know. I know that some states will make you remove the spotlight while others will leave it be if it was original to the car. But my ex-cop car is 24 years old so no body bothers it.
I recommend visiting copcar . com and Police Car Owners of America and Police Car Owners Online Association. Lots of good information there for police car fans.
