engine oil and transmission fluid leaks

Last week I had my 04 in the dealership for an oil change. They called me back to show me a couple of leaks. The first was an engine oil leak that appeared to be coming from the base of the oil filter housing. It looks like the oil filter base bolts to the engine block. Is that correct? Anybody had a leak there?

The second was a leak coming from the transmission. It's coming from what looks like a cover over where a speedometer cable would go in, if it used a regular speedometer cable. It looks like a small cover held in place by one bolt on the left rear of the transmission. Anyone? Bueller?

the engine oil leak is really common, its just a gasket, but you have to drain the coolant to fix it, the trans fluid, i'm not so sure

Oil filter adapter leaks are a common problem, can't really speak to the other issue. I've got a little weeping from my tailshaft, but that's the only spot I've seen so far on my car.
