1st gear - towards 4-6k rpm
2nd near 3-5k rpm
3rd the same.
Also when in traffic just letting off brake and no throttle, I get a nasty shuttering (almost like creeping with a clutch car when just not getting enough gas )

This little miss or whatever it is just driving me crazy. I tried fuel filter with no success in past, spark plugs which its probably do for again. I am currently swapping coils one by one to try to find location. Another mass air meter and air filter cleaning happening this weekend. Thought about trying better coils I have seen around as well as plugs. (Names of company I can't remember except for the msd coils.)

Any help on trouble shooting would be awesome. I had a good trans guy confirm its not in the trans or drive line. Thanks guys.

Alot of people will tell you the coils are going bad, thats a possibility. If they ohm out ok, its usually the boots which are going bad. The arc travels from the spring thru the boot to ground. The 4v 4.6 has alot more heat surrounding those boots and it cooks the dielectic compounds out of the rubber making them dry and minute cracks in the rubber will pass spark thru the boot to ground. The coils will in most cases will work under light load and misfire under heavy loads when the spark travels around the plug to ground via the covers or other metal in close proximity to the coil boot. The coil is usually controlled by the ECU via a square wave or chopped dc signal which varies in width based on demand, some will even multi spark and that's where you will see these issues since the duty cycle of the coil is high.

So it sounds like maybe multiple coils are the issue and I should be focused on those as replacement as a hole or at least the boots? Thanks for your insight on them. Any suggestions on replacements for them? Thanks.
