I contacted him about some high-low converters since I was adding an amp to my car. I ran a few pieces by him and he gave his advice on something that would work a lot better for me.

The MTX re-Q5 (OEM Bass Restoration & Signal Processor) (pictures used for example only)

The re-Q5 restores bass audio signal quality from factory radio. This device will process compressed low frequencies and re-produce a signal that is far improved, resulting in great bass output at any volume level. It features 5-channel inputs and outputs, allowing an overall improved signal output from all channels in addition to bass restoration. The re-Q5 presents itself as the perfect solution for anyone who wants to enhance their system with aftermarket solutions while preserving the features of factory radios!

General Features:
Auxiliary input (Great now I can hook up my phone and play Pandora!)
Four channel 3-way summing
Ground Loop Isolator
Independent Gain controls
AC/DC Smart Engage to sense in any vehicle
Volume Sensing Bass Restoration
Subsonic and Low-Pass Crossovers
Remote output
Can be installed before or after stock amps

Input/Output Specifications:
Input Channels: FL, FR, RL, RR, Sub
Input Type: Differential Balanced
Input Range: 250mV - 30V
Output Channels: FL, FR, RL, RR, Sub
Output Type: Unbalanced RCA
Max Output Voltage: 2.5V RMS Full Range, 8V RMS Sub
Signal to Noise: >90dB (A-Weighted referenced to 1V out)
THD+N: <0.1% at 1V out (20Hz- 20kHz)

Miscellaneous Features:
Operating Voltage: 8V - 16V
Operating Current Draw: 150mA
Standby Current Draw: < 4mA
Recommended Fuse Value: 1A (Fast Blow)
Recommended Fuse Type: AGC
Dimensions: 7-1/8"L x 4-1/2"W x 1-1/2"H

Now I will have true dedicated Front, Rear and Sub channel outputs that I will get a 2.5v preout on the front & rear and 8v preout on the sub. Voltage on the preouts is very important to ensure a quality signal.

I talked to John about the piece last week and ordered it earlier this week and was delivered yesterday. I thought the unit would be a lot smaller but it's a littler smaller than a bible lol, I will have to mount the unit in my glove box, such a shame cause I would really love to show the unit off in my trunk but I need to tap the speaker/sub wires off the my audiophile HU. Thank you again John for your advice and service!

That looks sweet I may have to pick a couple of them up one of these days. I need to call John about something else too.

MTX does not make them anymore so you may want to get with him soon. He didn't tell me how many he had in stock.

Do you need to have a sub input to get the sub output?

If your factory system has no sub, the re-Q5's sub output is taken from the left and right inputs.

If your factory system has a sub then you would tap the +/- sub wires off the headunit.

Here is the install sheet that comes with it.
