This one comes with the plastic push rivets...I got one from american muscle with the metal fastening hardware but thats just my preference. Good deal on it tho!:banana2:

Yes...and they look great!
I'm sure some fellow members will post up pictures of their Marauders with this 'mod'.

How was your's shipped? Was it folded in half?
If so, did the crease disappear?
I'm interested but hesitant for 2 reasons:
1. Shipping due to folding it and having a crease.
2. Plastic push pins/rivets. I think mounting nuts/bolts would be stronger but then again a PIA for install.

So, plastic vs. metal rivets/connectors......
Any opinions?
I think that I understand that the plastic won't rip the bumper (plastic will go first)?
Thanks,
Mark

Most likely it will be folded for shipping, but a few hours out in the sun....or a heat gun will fix that.
I'd rather have fragile plastic clips that shear off and break before my Marauder's front valance gets ruined!

Please let us know regarding the install and if the crease disappears with being out in the sun or using a heat gun.
If it works out to your liking with the above steps you stated and there is no crease, I will not hesitate to order & do this mod.
Thanks and Aloha!

A pic with the front spoiler it is fastened with self tapping stainless screws with flat washers.I had mine shipped without being folded.I was told the crease does not come out easily.

Bummer!
Wednesday I bought one on sale from another Mustang Website for $75.
I like the idea of the plastic rivets. Where can I get those from?
Does anyone have a picture of what they look like?
Thanks.
****EDIT.
Nevermind. Should have looked through the other sites listing.

I also installed one of these front spoilers on my '04 DTR. Mine was shipped unfolded and so no problem there. I used self-tapping stainless screws on mine...very easy install...I put mine up on cardboard boxes to hold it while I was mounting it...oh, and be sure the distance at the ends of both sides is the same...if it does not quite match up on both sides of the bumper cover parts.
I was also concerned about covering up the air bag sensors on the underneath side of the bumper cover part...and so I just cut out a couple of slot/circles where those sensors are mounted.
That might not be necessary...someone else might know for sure but I just thought I would be safe about that...thus the cutouts...they are on the top of the spoiler and do not show once it is mounted.

Plastic rivets are available at Ace Hardware. Way less expensive than Autozone, etc. And so much easier to install.

I put a bead of black silicone between the bumper and the spoiler to clean up the look. I am good at caulking and it looks fantastic. Let it dry overnight or you'll be sorry.
I got mine folded. A day in the sun and it was perfect.

Mine only whistles at babes, M-I-L-F-S and Cougars....
You must have a female spoiler.

Looks great. I got mine on late last year and think it really adds a great look to the front end.
WATCH THOSE CURB STOPS...they can prove very deadly...I came very close to bumping one...whew!

Those front spoilers look great on our vehicles I think...I do not know if it is necessary or not...maybe someone else can speak about that...but I cut two little spaces out of mine where the airbag sensors (at least I think that is what those are) are located on the underside of the front rubber bumper part...I did not want to cover them up with the top of the spoiler...just in case.
And...when you get the front spoiler put on...it goes without saying...watch those curb stops...they become very deadly.
Good luck with yours.

IIRC the air bag sensors are on the radiator support.

I've installed mine and now I'm thinking maybe I should have went with 1/2' further back to possibly make the slight gap less noticeable due to the rounded shape of the bumper bottom.
I think I gotta let it grow on me a little with the DTR. Whadda you think? Too far out?
Criticism welcome!

Wind passing between chin-spoiler & bumper causes whistle. Run a small bead of clear silicone caulk on it to seal the gap = whistle gone. Enjoy the coolness that is a MM with a chin! :bows:

I ran a bead of black silicone right when I installed it but whistle persists. Thanks though.
