QUESION
- i did a lil search online for Ford Racing 4.30 gears since i seen sparta don't make them or maybe i overlooked them. But i seen a Motive set stamped wit "Ford Racing" on it. Does Motive make the gears or was this a mix up of boxes?
- will i need any other bolt on items to support such a steep gear?
- Black Saleen wheels on a Marauder do they bolt right up? anyone have pics? whats your opinions on them being on the Marauder?
HELP NEEDED
- im in need of a JMOD done to my MM im here in Jacksonville right now untill the 21st then i'll be home in Miami. Anyone avaliable to get it done for me? Landy was suppose to do it for me a while back but we never got the time due to his shedule. i would like to get this done before the 4.30s go in.
- i'll need a tune for the gears so who to use? i currently have an aggresive Zack tune and love it. BUT he doesnt do them anymore so ...MartyO is the go to guy?

i could answer the other questions but i don't feel too confident in my advice so i am sure more expert people on the subject are going to chime in.
As for the wheels, What year cobra wheels and what type? the older wheels will bolt right up but the offset will be different. I have them on my car and i like the offset but it is not for everyone. I have saleen black wheels on my car and i like them, the pics can be found in the thread i made "HDR pics"
the 05+ mustang model wheels will bolt right on without any issues with the offset. older models will stick out. depending on the tires, on my car they sit flush with the fenders and the panels, which is exactly what i want.
here is a link to the thread with pics

I also do have a set for sale (my old wheels) which do have a lip and sit perfectly in the wheel well like the stock marauder wheels do. in case you are interested

Tommy at Sparta said that if they make 4.30's, he can get them. You will need a install kit and a tune update, nothing else.

Anyone know at what point will you start to run out of steam with 4.30s? Will they pull strong all the way thru 100?

Ford racing does not make 4.30's The last digit on the part # of all ford gears will be a F for ford or a M for Motive. The biggest issue with Motive is they do often wine but so little that if you are even thinking to loud you will not notice.. You could give it just a hair of looseness, but then you stand a chance of tearing them up quicker. Seriously, the whine really isn't noticeable at all.
As for running out of steam? I have only taken it to 80 so far because of the cold. I did this at only 1/3 throttle and was hit or miss spinning the tires. She REALLY wanted to run. I don't see any issue at all well over 100.

BTW Triple threat ran 4.56's with only 26" tires making that an effective gear ratio of what? 4.80's?? And he ran 11.3 @ 118 and I highly doubt he uses overdrive.
Too bad you aren't closer, you could just take mine for a ride while I did your Jmod.

One more quick thought... Under user options on your tune, the gear ratio's are normally left open on Zack's stuff. I just scrolled through and punched in 4.30. Give it a try.

Ok so motive gears is the option for 4.30s. Far as tearing them up how would they?*
I have BFGs on my car but no REAL mods. So I doubt 4.30 make me burn tires. Or will they?*

Yeah I wish I was closer. Where are you located?

What will that do without the 4.30 gear actually being in the car? I thought it'll mess it up?

Even on a NA car with little or no mods you will notice an improvement with gears of 4.10's and up!!
Too much slop in the gear would tear them up over time.
Located just outside Chicago.
Of course you can't put in a different gear ratio without actually having the gears. Your trans would act funny.

Eaton Swap + 4.10's = Wreeeeeeeeeedom!!

What Joe said ^.
Just check to see if you have 4.30's listed on your user adjustments. If so, have a gear installed, then highlight that gear in your adjustments. Done, enjoy.
As far as power goes, I don't see why the tires wouldn't rip every time.

Ok I'll check for that option. I was told I'd have zero traction with 4.30s which is fun at times but I want it mostly to Get this car moving in the city when I want to play but be able to drive 4 hours on the highway
