OK, for several month my brake pedal is very firm before I start the car if it has sat for more than 24hrs. It feels like if you pump the brakes many times with the engine off - it eventually gets stiff and there is no pedal travel. I don't know if it is normal for it to do this while sitting? Do I have a master cylinder/ brake booster problem?

Ever flush the lines and put in new fluid?
While your at it Todd at TCE sells great SS Lines for our cars, buy some and put in new fluid and I'll bet it will be rock hard. (twss)
Good luck

You said the pedal is firm before starting the car after sitting for 24hrs or more? Sounds normal. Once the engine is started you have vacuum going to the booster which assists your braking efforts, which in turn will allow the pedal to travel more freely.

I am just not used to the vacuum bleeding down on it's own that quickly. I remember it taking longer. I will keep an eye on it. If it starts doing it in a few hours, something is definitely wrong.
