Yesterday me and the boys went to the track for Ocala grudge match. Its a head up class run what you brung only for street cars.
Drove the car 50 miles to the track. Made a couple of passes on the blower only it went 11.5 at 117mph and 11.6 at 117.
Got to the match and won against a couple of slower cars. Then lined up against my buddy with a Gto, built 408 on 400 shot and stock drivetrain M6
I ended up going 11.0 at 130mph with a 60' of 1.7 spraying in 2nd gear
He went 11.4 at 135mph.
We both got discualified cuz of no rollbar. And a 12.0 truck tookthe win again.
I started the car up to go home and it was pouring coolant out the back, towed it home and sad she sits. Stay tuned for surgery.

Maybe you will get lucky and find that all you did was lift a head -- that can happen when you are spraying the car.

Uh oh. Major surgery ahead but congrats on the 11.0!! Also proves my theory that things always run the best right before they break. I said this at a car meet to my friend with a 11 second gt500. He made his best pass of a 11.2 instead of his typical 11.6 and the blower broke apart internally right after the run.

Thats what makes sense, unfortunately the engine has ford studs. The car has compression, it should be fine.

. If the car makes those times spraying on 2nd I can imagine if it hooks spraying out the hole.

Did Juno ever sell the teksid block he had? Might be worth a try and I'd call msr in Clearwater as they have a bunch of stuff and might have a block.

If they do I can throw it in the back of the truck or the trunk of the MM and swing it up your way in a couple weeks.

Now she sits at 531rwhp 456rwtq @16psi on 17* of timing. It kept making power with more timing but i decided to leave it at 17* then add 5* on race fuel.
All on a 6 rib belt at 6800rpm shifts with no belt slip.

Tire selection plays a big role on the axels breaking. I honestly never seen OEM 28's break on an auto car.

LANDY
12-04-2012, 06:52 PM
I still have 100% stock suspension. Im going to try my setup on both types of tires and see how it performs..
I believe unless i modify the suspension it wont hold the gun out the gate with the radials. I know for sure it will hold it on the hoosier slicks.
On just the blower it should be faster on the radials.

I came to miami to spend time with my parents and put the first roadtrip on the new setup. I have been here a couple of days. Today i went to playing at a private place and after a full pass i shredded the belt.
Note:16psi 15* of timing 11.2 AFR.
I always keep my tools with me just in case i have to take the car apart on the road. I have had the next size smaller belt on the trunk since the dyno day just in case. I take it all apart and it takes two of us to install the smaller belt on ( my friend on tensioner me underneath almost hanging on it). I get back on the road and get on it in 2nd gear and i notice my AFR leaned out to 11.7 and car feels faster. Then i do it again and the boost gauge reads 18psi before shift. By this time i want to read my plugs.
I get new plug on cilinder #1, go to the place to make a full pass again.
Made it, pulled the plug and the strap looks like perfect timing and its burning perfect.
I think this thing just picked up an extra 20rwhp. Keep in mind this is all on a six rib.
I have a video of the car on 16psi from days ago i will post next. It has been a great holiday so far. Merry Christmas everyone!

Landy whats going on at about 120 mph your rpms drop from 6400 to 6100 & build again, is that the TQ converter locking up ? That baby is strong. :)

LANDY

Yes its the lockup. I have tried locking the converter at different speeds and this is the best way to stay on powerband. Notice how quick it goes from 115mph to 135mph?

Thing sounds healthy! It rolls the F@(#$* out!!! What are your rear gears? And did you get it started then lay on it? I imagine traction can be a problem on the street sometimes if you just mash the hell out of it from a dig.
For some reason, link not working

If a link does this and you're on a desktop/laptop, the quick fix is to delete the "m." in front of the "www" and it'll work.

Car has 4.10 gears and 29" tall tires. Tires are worn out and yes i rolled into it. With this stall there is no matting out the hole.

I left work early today, went to the local dyno that opened just weeks ago.
Since i changed to a tighter belt and the car now hits 18psi and it feels faster i decided to see how much power it makes now. (No tunning)
She made 569rwhp-489rwtq. 15* of timing at 6800rpm On the 6rib.
Im going to set my shift point at 7k since it drops power after 6800.
