I should of just followed along as planned and made my own solid connectors. Look at the quality crimps on these Granatelli's! I couldn't get them to click onto the plug for nothing, come to find out they were just sliding the ends further onto the the cable. That would be interesting to get back off.. I tried to recrimp one but ended up making it worse so I loaded some S.S. wire in the mig and gave her a zap. Hope this works, can't see why it wouldn't? I will Email them to show them what's up so this can be addressed, but since I bought them (new) from a member here, I'm sure I will be eating these. One end fell off on its own! http://img.tapatalk.com/aefd1823-a838-429b.jpg

Tack weld should hold unless them are oily. You need a scrimp tool. Get your scrimps on.

I just did a quick tack, seemed just fine. Just unreal that I will have to do about 13 more! I swear I have the worst luck with anything aftermarket. I spend more time perfecting it for them! :p
Tried the re'crimp first. The metal is so weak it snaps when you try to straighten them out, then crimp.

Bro you sure you even want to use them? Like you said, you have to get them back off at some point. And they might not all come out in one piece. Can you get a socket onto a plug if it comes un-scrimped and leaves the end on a plug?
Are these the COP connectors?
If so I have these on my car with no issues. Been on for about 3 years.

? I think a little more actually. Thats not the exact same cable as theirs, but I'm quite sure it would be suffice, or I could spend another two minutes googling.
Yes Jake, same as everyone's here. Maybe I just got a bad batch? Maybe all of you should check yours?

What is this supposed to do anyway? I mean, that spark plug connector is from the olden days of pushrod V8's, when engines used distributor caps and heavy spark plug wires to get the high-voltage pulse to the spark plug. On those motors, the relatively heavy boots were held in place by pretty much thin air. A strong clip over the spark plug connector ensured connection with the spark plug, and it also ensured the boot didn't vibrate itself loose.
On our engines, there is a coil cover which is designed to hold the coils in place, so the spark plug connector no longer has to perform this function. All it needs to do is transfer an electric pulse from the coil output to the spark plug - it doesn't have to hold anything together.
The original spring that's used to do this might make a somewhat longer path for the spark than absolutely necessary, but we're talking a few extra inches or so - still far shorter than most old spark plug wires. Plus, since the position of the coils are quite fixed, the gap between coil and plug might be affected by extremes in temperature, so a flexible, expanding conduit is needed there.
Why not just do this:

I purchased their Pro Coils, that included soild stainless connectors, for about over $500 plus shipping.

These coils didn't even last 6 months. About 6 out of 8 were failing. I returned them since they were still under warranty which they replaced.
I have brand new OEM coils with no problemos.....
Buyer beware!!!!!!!

This is the exact ends that granatelli uses, not my idea. The other reasoning for the solid wire is to help prevent plug walk out.

The idea is that it's a thicker gauge wire and direct contact onto the plug which is supposed to supply more voltage due to less resistance. On paper it sounds good and I went ahead and bought a set like most members but it hasn't been proved exactly what benefit these are over the springs. I bought mine from lightning force performance, they are the same as the crapetellis but $30 cheaper and never had a problem.

Must have been a bad batch? I emailed them last night to show them pics and get their opinion on what could have happened, not pulling the replace for me card, but maybe do some more quality control. Glad I found the exact replacements at least. Now I have a choices, fix, weld solid, or make my own. Still $125.00 garbage on this end.
Just sucks as I am very selectively cheap and have wanted these for quite sometime, but never wanted to pay.. I FINALLY go ahead and get a set only to find this.

and why anyone would use aftermarket COP is a mystery to me,never had any issues with the stockers, even on my Modfox that runs in the low 9's

The only problem I've had with mine is one time the crimp came loose when I was changing my plugs, I re-crimped it and moved on.

Well good news for once. After several emails with pics Granatelli is VERY interested to see what might of happened with these.
He said these were the older design but the crimping should still have been a heart shaped crimp. He couldn't believe that 13 out of 16 never pierced the cable. The pictures were nice and clear for once but he still wants these back in his hands for research. Out of good faith, seeing as though I bought these new but second hand, he is going to hand pick replacements and get them out to me.
That's standing behind your product.

In the 1970's We never bought OEM replacement parts or maintenance parts. The quality was very poor and the price was out of sight. I can remember looking at the OEM parts and finding it hard to believe that junk was on my car.
Then aftermarket was far better and cost less.
Today in most cases the quality of the OEM* cannot be matched by replacement parts.
*Competition from Imports resulted in higher quality.
