Good morning all,
I am in need of a good wrench that can re-thread my head. Had the same plug blow out again this morning. I have seen the threads about DITY repairs but this one I am not at all comfortable with as well I don't have the equipment. If you can recommend a shop I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Ouch, sorry to hear. I think just about any Ford dealer can do this. I am more than certain this has happened once or a thousand plus times and they would be ready for it.

I'd check the local Mustang forums for referrals.

Or the F150/F250 Truck forums as it's real common in the 99+ 5.4's. That and the breaking spark plugs.

I've done it before with the Timesert kit. Since the heads are aluminum it's pretty easy.

That and the breaking spark plugs.I thought breaking plugs was more of a problem with the 3Vs?

I almost lost my cool today when the stealership told me I would need a new head due to a blown out plug. That or pay them $800 to helicoil it. Bought the kit, and will do it my darn self.

Good God! That is asinine!
I thought it happened to me a while back but it was a bad spark plug socket gasket.

Timesert is well worth it. After being quoted 800 for the job, I bought the kit..did the job and is good to go. If you have a plug blow out and a few Hours to spend...very straight foreword and easy to do.

$417 shipped overnight off amazon. Well worth it and should I have to do it again...it costs me nothing but a few hours of my time.
