Hello everyone,
I been using the site since I adopted my marauder on Jan 2011- 5,444 miles on the DASH!!!!! I been meaning to join but just never got around to it. I guess better late then never....here is my story...
I use to drive a 98 white nissan sentra from 9th grade to my junior yr in college til the wheels fell off. I had a love/hate relationship for my little egg shell. It was small, ugly, and a 4 cylinder, but it got me and my friends to wherever I needed to go and all it asked for was a "lil" gas. That is the same car that I use get a ride to middle school in via the backseat. So I knew that my next car had to be big, nice looking, and a V8. I originally started looking at the crown vic, but everybody and they momma had one. Negative. Then the marquis got my attention and was like ok kool. As I did more research I came across the marauder. Instant Love. I always liked the specs of the 96 impala SS(ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS). The MM to me was like Ford's delayed answer to the impala ss and I had to have one by any means necessary. It also made me a rebel to all my friends with them being chevy lovers.:flamer:
When the nissan died on me, I ended up getting a 02 mustang instead. whomp whomp . I know , I know, but it was all I could afford at the time and needed a car asap. College student remember. I was still determined to do everything under the sun to make it into how I wanted. Cold air intake, 93 Race SCT tuner, Bigger throttle body, straight back full exhaust(no H or X pipe or cats). Still I was not satisfied.
The Marauder was calling me. So I decided to sell my mustang and use the money to put towards a MM. I really had 3 browser and bout 10 tabs each searching for the ONE. One day, I dont know how, but I cam across Miss Berry. A elderly man had posted her to columbus, ohio craigslist. At first I thought it was joke. 5,444 miles. Original. Moon roof, heated seats, cd changer. Had only 2 reports on the carfax. One was a oil change and the other was to tighten a speaker that came loose. To my luck the guy posted a phone number and I called....
Our first conversation was for a least 3 hrs and Im cutting it short. We talked about everything about the car. He later told me that the conversation reassured him that I would respect and maintain Miss Berry just as he did. He also told me that the dealership called him back twice to try and buy her back. After that conversation he waited and worked with me a whole month to get my finances together and I did!!!! I had her shipped down a week later.(This all happened with out me EVER physically seeing the car):bows: I was in Love with Miss Berry!!!!!!
At first I was tryna keep the miles low. It had became so hard not to drive her but I loved driving her so much that I would probably give my only begotten son to drive her once if I had children. j/k....:D Now she around 18000 miles. I kept going back and forth about keeping her original and doing some mods....but I couldnt resist the dark side....the force is strong! I ended up doing some audio work and now I flirting with the supercharger idea....
