Hi guys,

After the engine heads had been re installed, I have noticed a noisy ticking sound coming all time even with pushing on gas pedal..!!

After taking the car to more than a mechanic, i had been told that it is from the lifters. My question, if it is so, can the lifters be replaced w/o removing the engine heads?

Appreciate your usual support & thanks in advance.

Why were they re-installed // cause? just something like blown headgasket or did you have head work done?

So no head work? or something in head cause mis-fire. back in 04 I had heads re-done under warranty & after The tech told me one lifter had failed to pump back up, he asked me to drive it home and see how it did 20 miles later of hiway driving and bang the tick was gone, I was truly shocked as I didnt think it would help driving it but it did. so with the misfire wasit a problem in the cylinder head/parts?

it was carbon build up in the valves the compression result was 110 psi.
