After I took the test, the result said: "40% (Yankee). There are traces of Yankee in you."
Now is that a good thing or a bad thing? And, I don't want to hear from Todd or any of his 10,000 cousins!

42% traces of Yankee. Born in Georgia, raised in South Florida back when it was part of the US. Lived in Charleston, SC, for 9 yrs, Norfolk, VA, 9 yrs, Honolulu, HI, for 8 yrs, Balston Spa, NY for 1 yr., El Paso, TX, for 1 yr., New London, CT, 1 yr. I guess the most yankee influence was my parents, both were from Boston, MA. I really like the country style of living but, I have had a great time wherever I have lived in the great United State of America. I tyhink there are more Red Necks in the North East than the South. You just have to get out of the city to see them.

It looks like the only people who would get more than about 70% would be older people in the deep south. I think the only people who score less than 25% would be older people in rural New England. I think that television and modern media has smoothed out the accents we used to have.
I got 44%, which seems logical. I was raised in Detroit and my parents are from the south.
72% (Dixie)I know this is a shock to y'all...

35% Yankee, born in North Jersey, living in Chicago area for 31 yrs. What a mix of answers there. When I first moved to Illinois and someone asked me if I wanted a POP! I put my fists up to defend myself? WTF was a POP? It was a SODA to me, Bill and I still argue over the way to pronounce "RADIATOR", LOL........

I guess the most yankee influence was my parents, both were from Boston, MA.
But then I went back and aswered all the questions with the most "northeast" or "north" answer and got 33%. I don't think 0% is possible! I'm also told I don't have a Bah-stun accent, but have never lived more than 60 miles from Boston my whole life.

If Heaven aint a LOT like Dixie...
I just as soon stay home.
If they aint got a Grand Ole Opry,

Just send me to Hell, or New York City,
It would be 'bout the same to me."
