Only used 1 tank of gas so far, but I have noticed a slight decrease in mpg. Using ngk tr55 g power. Should I reset the computer? Is this normal?

Slight decrease? could be something other than the plugs. Tire pressure, fuel filter, air filter. What plugs were you running before?

No car ever gets exactly the same miles on every tank.

Oem plugs. Original plugs since birth.

There are too many variables, and you don;t drive EXACTLY the same every time.

Temperature
Humidity
Wind
Traffic
Speed
etc.

Check the owners manual for a correct way to calculate your fuel mileage.

I have 3 + yrs of travel records that show exactly 21.2 mpg everytime. I know how to calculate sir. :) its only the first tank but my habits haven't changed and I'm recording 19.4 after new plugs and connectors.

My first thought was: I see your age is 36. You are way too young to care about a 1.8 mpg difference. But, 1.8 mile per gallon loss is actually noticable. I've tried other fancy shmansy plugs and I end up taking them out and going back to stockers.

I'll give em a few more tanks, 10 or so. The car is NA, I've gotten over driving it like its stolen. I don't get tickets for a reason. I'll revisit this in a couple months.

Check cop connections. Possible to wide of plug gap. Less gap is better.

Checked em before install, out if the box they were all 54, and my coil tester showed they were all working.

Your motor is most likely loaded up with carbon. Add some Run Rite product.
1) Fuel Treatment to the gas tank.
2)Oil System Treatment to oil crankcase.
3) Throttle Body & Intake Cleaner via throttle body.
4) injector cleaner at fuel rail.
After burning a full tank of gas change oil & oil filter.

Had the same problem using NKG plugs, so went back to using Motorcraft and gas mileage returned to normal.. Don't wait !!!

PS--you will get full credit for purchase of the NKG so bring the receipt with you !!

i'd agree with above. Seafoam it too. get some electrical contact cleaner and clean the MAF sensor. Replace fuel filter. Pull neg batt terminal for 5 mins to reset the cars computer and fuel trims.

worn plugs have a bigger gap than 054 and bigger gaps make more power. With good coils and soild cop connectors you can go a touch bigger. Also winter gas is crap so wait for spring.

I used those plugs, and my car would Break up at high rpm. Replaced these with factory plugs and all was WELL again:burnout:
