My 04 started sucking oil out of the PCV could see some oil seeping out of the rubber grommet. Missed the Dealer and went monday and got a NAPA PCV. Pull the one out of the car it has a hard plastic elbow and the new one does not. Sucker is on there HARD, before breaking anything... to the google.

Get hair dryer, gotta get it REAL HOT block off some air with chest to get it hotter. Channel locks holding the PCV and yank the elbow off. Had to heat it up real good to get on the new one.

All back together and cleaned up, idles real nice and quiet now FTMFW

Thanks guys this would have driven me INSANE when I would have found the new one from the dealer had no elbow either.

Boiling water will do it too but if you need a new one just go to Advance Auto and look at their PCV Valves......some have the same elbow and they are cheap.....pull it off (easy when new) and stick it on yours!!

Well I can say after driving to work and back WOW.. Just a stupid PCV valve was really making the car run crappy. Much smoother idle now and snappier throttle response. It is amazing how bad those big new style PCV get they must end up pulling too much vacuum flow. I suspect this was the original one.

I can say for sure that elbow will NOT fall off on it's own :)

I really do not want to do this again, so I will search for the correct NEW FORD valve. The NAPA valve is usually good so I hope I have time to get a new one.

Not much too see it looks like the OEM now
Even heated i had to use channel locks to hold the old PCV. And yanked on the elbow with other hand hard

Video would be noisy due to the hair dryer. A real heat gun more effective or gently use torch but then burn hand or mark up elbow

Did you ever think about a Catch Can?

www.musclemerc.com has them, well thought out, and well made.

Still may do the catch can but the valve was really worn out needed replaced. I normally do this once a year along with the fuel filter
