First some Division X fuel rails. Looked kinda blah there.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u216/blown38/20120220_152854.jpg

So I did this.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u216/blown38/20120220_153109.jpg

Now it looks like this
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u216/blown38/20120220_152828.jpg

And some valve covers. Put some primer down.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u216/blown38/20120221_203723.jpg

And then some chrome. Putting some color on em next.

Does your wife know that you used her oven shelves?

Would I be correct in saying the lower cam cover is powder coated in a chrome color?

I'm not that ballsy.

Yes the lower pic is chrome over the primer coat above it. The chrome is a base coat for the next coat of color that should go on tonight. And then another coat of clear or tinted clear depending on what the color coat looks like.:)

Then I might try and sand and buff it to take the orange peel out. Never done this before with powder, so not sure if I want to take the chance on these.

That looks great!
I have thought about getting into powdercoating, but I just don't have the room right now.

All I have is an old kitchen oven and the craftsman gun, which is electric so no need for a compressor or to worry about keeping water out of the lines.;)

One cam cover just barely fits and the other I have to put in at an angle. Can't do wheels but can cover just about any engine part. I can wedge a front cover in the oven too.

I used some hi-temp clearcoat that I had to cure in the oven, on my upper/lower intake and some other parts. I used the oven in my kitchen, and I know what you mean, it barely fit in there lol.
BTW my wife was totally fine with it. It smelled pretty bad at first but soon went away.

Did you get your stuff from Eastwood?

And I like the electric VS air, like you said no need to worry about moisture in the air lines.

Yeah I use eastwood powder. I would try others tho. Need to read up on which ones are good for engine stuff, what is UV resistant and such. Eastwood seems to be a good all around powder.

Thanks!

Finished up the valve covers last night. I'll get some pics when the sun pops out today. Its anodize red over chrome base and cleared. Looks DTR in some light.
