So I am sitting in my car at a shopping mall parking lot. I am making a few work related calls. I see an old lady in a 1999-2000 Honda Accord she circles me. I am thinking she is just old & what ever. She comes around again window down yells out "I just went to my bank & have no money. Can you spare some ?". I immediately think old lady with sole income of social security that won't buy ****. So, I pull my wallet out walk over to her car & give her $10.00. As I am talking to her I notice on the passenger floor two large Dunkin Donuts coffee cups in a carrier. Her cigarette she is waving stinks. Car is way to clean for her to be living in. As I walk away I am thinking cigarettes got to be all of $7.00 a pac Lg. coffee at D.D. $3.50. Qiut smoking & make your coffee at home. Coffee & cigarettes add up real fast to big money. I watch her driving around the parking lot over the next 35 mins. She is hitting everyone up for money. Did I get scammed or what ?

What in the wide wide world of sports? Is that a new cruise in idea? Let's circle in a parking lot wasting gas, smoking some cigarettes and eating some donuts, and oh yeah...got any cash on ya? Could've been worse, she could have had a gun and robbed you.

Burt, although I applaud your generosity, it's people like that who ruin it for the truly needy. I give to local charities and other worthy organizations, but I never give anyone money directly anymore.

Well said, never give money to individuals on the street. Give it to charities and shelters that help the truly needy. Those on the street probably work 40k/yr jobs and do this on the side to keep up with the joneses

Another reasons I tell people who ask for money to go FK themselves.
I even offered to help a homeless POS fill out an application in front of the McDonalds he was begging at. Told me "I don't have ***** time for that sht!! FK you mother Fkr." That is what he told me. He is lucky my wife was with me or I probably would have dragged his worthless ass down an alley way and filled in potholes with his face.

Exactly, and why do the beggars only come out in the nicer weather and weekdays? If you are that hard up, your ass should be out there in the snow and weekends at all hours with your cup out. This lack of motivation is probably the reason why these bums don't have a job in the first place.

LMAO... or just lend him $5.00-$10.00 so he can purchase a rock or blow, then when his high is over as his pockets are too, he'll then allow himself into your basement (In hopes not to disturb you and your family) borrowing multiple items then selling said items to customers at a reasonable price with bids that go lower and lower without your approval! YOU then complain that you made no profits from your fellow street unemployed-ployee, at which time you notify da' Po-Po (who make you wait because it's not a life threatening incident), Po-Po wisks him away for a time out with a possible spanking to be determined. Since said unemployed-ployee is under your contract you also must pay for his housing, medical bills, and court fees. After a predetermined (reasonable) amount of time unemployed-ployee has learned newer tactics and is ready to be released back onto the street in attempt to win your heart all over again, and just like McDonalds "I'm Lovin' It!"
I also love the unemployed-ployee (Door man), who believes that after a lifetime of you opening your own doors, deserves a cut/$ for his extra burned calorie for opening a door for you and those that follow afterwards!
THANK YOU COME AGAIN!

A number of years ago I was approached by a woman with a young girl of about 8 years old. She claimed she needed just a few dollars for gas to get home and made some excuse about why she didn't have any money. So I gave her $5. After I was done shopping I came out and saw the same woman in her car with a wad of bills in her hands on top of the steering wheel, counting them.:mad2:

It's Obamas job to give handouts peeps not ours. Let me rephrase. It's every politicians job to give handouts for votes. Carry on.
It is too bad. I would give a little if I and others weren't being ripped off by the government, bogus groups asking for donations and fake homeless people. Now I pretty much don't give a crap hence I don't give any more. Ive become more cynical and skeptical because of it and just think to myself. Most of those people should have just made better decisions in life.

Before there was a federal tax at the beginning of the last century, private groups took care of the needy with no problem. Then the progressives took over, created a federal tax and the nanny state. And just look where it has gotten us........

I had a good one attempted on me last year. Young woman approaches me after I get out of my car at the local supermarket and asks if I can spare $10 to buy her gas. Says she ran out and doesn't have her purse, it's at home and she needs to get home to her kids. So I offer to go get her some gas (I have a spare can in the Mountaineer) and bring it to her car. How far is her car? Uhhhhh, uuummmmm, uuuhhhhhhhh, that's ok. She walked off. :D

We all have stories, mine is I was in N. Carolina helping my daughter move. Son in law and I was at a shopping center with a Homo Depot.
A lady drives up (nice van and dressed nice) said she forgot her money at home and needed to get to Charlotte (I was in Winston-Salem) She then asked for gas money $20.00. I went to the van window to talk to her and she said she really needed the money and pulled up her dress and top to show her bare (they were bare too)assets. She then said all that could be mine for the right price. I called the three guys helping us load the lumber and she showed all of us the works. We then walked away from her van. I was on Vice Squad for a number of years. She proberly filled her quota that day. PonyUp she had Captain Morgan too.

Captain you say? I would have driven her around the parking lot, filled her up and then go to the gas station to get to Charlotte

It is really^^ makes you appreciate life And what you have more:)
Preventive action: A couple of days ago at the ATM the lady in front of me "completed" her transaction and left. I pulled up ready to insert my card and noticed the screen wasn't the usual commercial message but the transaction boxes "withdrawal". I closed it out, a receipt for $200.00 printed and the account had a $654.00 balance. I looked for the lady but she had already entered traffic and was
headed to a school/housing area. By the time I could get there, no sign of her.
She can be thankful.

Three days ago in Glenn Dale MD, As we stopped at a red light a homeless guy comes to my car and asked me for some change so I gave him three dollars he said god bless you then he said " CAN I HAVE THE CIGARETTE IN YOUR MOUTH I SAID NO I PULL OUT MY PACK AND GAVE EM TWO CIGARETTES. It was just funny how he asked me that.
Many years ago the wife and I were going to Target at the off ramp was a guy with a cast on and a sign basically saying "broke leg cant work can you help $$$". After we had finished we stopped at the McDonalds about a block from said off ramp. There was the guy sitting at a table taking off the cast to give to his buddy to put on for his "shift".

Just wrote a paper for my english class about opportunity. This country is way too well off to be on the streets. It's clearly a choice on their part to live that way.
Seems as I grow older and look around more, there's two types of people. Those who want to work and those who don't. Think of financial aid, the charities mentioned, we have it so good here...Almost feel spoiled sometimes as I'm finally starting to go to college at 27.

i was visiting my ex girlfriend in philly when i needed a jump start, after about 30 minutes asking drivers going by, as they were asking me if i was leaving(my parking spot), a guy walks up and says 'hey i work for a tow truck driver, were getting lunch right now, he's on the other block and i know he'll give you a jump start, just give me $5 and we'll be right over' , being half gullable, the other half desperate, i gave him the money, and never saw him again:mad2:. needless to say, iv'e never given money to the needy ever again, and never will. i didn't appreciate somebody kicking me when i was down.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough ti think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.
Here's how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 20-21 yr old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. Its impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and and instead ask you for a ride to McDonald's.
You agree and they get in to the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.
I had my wallet stolen December 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, and again on the 17th, 20th, 24th &29th. Also January 1st & 4th. Twice on the 8th, again on the 16th, and 20th, two times yesterday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.
So tell your friends to be careful.
P.S. Wal* Mart has wallets on sale for 2.99.

Had a couple of "scamming" instances. The last one.....
I was at the local gas station, a guy 20yo something, walks over and gives me a sob story about needing to get home, had to put a new battery in his Explorer, now has no money for gas, blah blah blah, could you help me out. I asked him what he needed, he said $15-20 would get him home, I asked where his car was, it was 2 pumps away, taking up space, blocking the way for people with money. So I obliged him, I said pull over here and I'll pump $20 worth of fuel in your car for you. Then it was uh uh uh, I'll be back.
He went to his truck, got inside, never got out. So I went in and paid for my fuel, came out, and knocked on his window, scared the hell out of him, he told me he got hold of his dad, and he was going to meet him at the Speedway and buy his fuel for him. Oh, OK.....
As it turns out, he pulls out in front of me, instead of going to the gas station, he turns north onto the freeway, since I live in the area, I know the closest Speedway gas station is about 12 miles from there, kinda odd, since I offered to give him $20 worth of fuel????
The second one was at a cruise in, a young lady, 20 or so, in 5" heels and some very revealing clothes(mighty hott BTW), walks up to us, and starts the conversation off with "I think I know you", I told her she was mistaken(In my mind I am thinking, do I know her?) , she looks at my buddy, tells him that her car broke down on the freeway, 1 mile away BTW, and she needs money for gas, but has no gas can, when Al tells her he is broke, she looks at him and tells him that he "looks" rich, and must have some cash, we finally blew her off.
She really went out of her way to go to a cruise in and beg for money...
Hindsight, we should have knocked her to the ground and took her money, I suspect she had more than all of us put together.
The second one was at a cruise in, a young lady, 20 or so, in 5" heels and some very revealing clothes(mighty hott BTW), walks up to us, and we lived happily ever after for the next hour. The end.
....Fixed!....
