Just curious how many have swapped their OEM caps for locking ones and what name brands are being used.
With gas prices headed to 5.00 + , I will be getting one. :alone:

I have one, had it on since new.....Some one poured some varnish in my gas tank on my Taurus when I had it....and when I got the Marauder, before I brought it home I went straight to the FLAPS and got one. I cant remember what brand it is but I believe it came in a yellow package with shrink wrap over it. I put one on the Burb as well.

I also heard that it is next to impossible to suck gas out of a newer vehicle like 2000 and up becuase of some antisiphoning thing in the tube between the filler hole and the tank. Dont know if that is true or not. But I did try to siphon gas out of the better halfs 03 Impala after she totaled it.....she had just filled it up before the accident and couldnt get the hose down the filler tube.

That is true about not being able to siphon gas from newer vehicles.
Now the dirt bags roll under your van or truck and punch a hole in the bottom of the tank. Lot more expensive to fix.

I have a Stant one p/n 10502 yellow and blue box. Got mine at AutoZone. Only problem, you can't attach the strap.

You can siphon gas, but it will take a while cause you have to use a 1/4 diameter hose. Did it many time time when i did't feel like going to buy gas for the lawn mower.

+1 on the Stant cap. Got mine at Walmart with 2 keys included.

I just put/store the cap in the pocket where the gas door hinge swings inward & outward while fueling.

+1 on the 1/4" diameter hose...also need to play with it to get it past a couple of flaps which will seal the filler tube assembly if the vehicle should overturn.

And I know....that's what she said...."also need to play with it"

Does anyone have any experience with the OEM Ford locking gas caps? I've been looking into this also.

Someone will have to start marketing tank shields, as in my area they don't even attempt to get in the fuel fill anymore, they just slide right under the cars, stab a screwdriver in the tank and drain it out, nobody sees them as easy, they don't have to worry about anti-siphons etc.

I hope one day when these so called thieves ( f :censor: ers) that puncture a hole in a gas tank, there is a spark and a good lesson will be learned.

But with gas tanks like butter to a screwdriver the above is highly unlikely. :mad2:
