I have 2004 DTR that recently started overheating. I was driving and noticed the gauge climbing. I pulled over and just as I was shutting the engine off the temp gauge came back down. Replaced the thermostat and the result is: no change. The MM only has 39,000 miles on it. Does anyone have any history with this type of issue?

Did you burp the system correctly?

Follow these directions or sell it to me. Chances are you are low on coolant. Raise the front of car about 1'. Remove the plug at the cross over tube. Start car heater on. Add coolant at resivior & cross over pipe bring up to temp watch for system to burp. Add as much coolant as allowed. total time apx 25 min. when done re insert plug at COT.

I agree need to burp the system which takes a little bit more time and is a PIA.

If it is not the above my next guess is you tried to take it over 40mph.;)
