After doing my Eaton Swap I was left with trans shift schedule that is worse then stock. Before the swap I had a Zack 2.0 tune and loved it. Before the dyno tune I was clear that I wanted to keep my current shift schedule but that didn't happen. My tuner said he was sorry but he couldn't see what I had before and did the best he could.

My question for those that know is....If I buy the Pro-Racer Package will I be able to modify my shift/lock-up schedule without modifying the engine management part of the tune? There isn't a lot information out there but its sounding like the software lets make my own tune but doesn't allow me to modify what currently in the car. True? I really don't want to mess with timing and fuel tables. thanks

No unless you have the parameters (tables, etc,) from your prior tune and "build them into" whatever tune you build for yourself.

your tuner should have been able to transfer your trans tune. it only takes a little time and dedication.
Going the Pro Racer way might not make sense $$$ wise unless you really want to change parameters on your car pretty often.
with the Pro Racer you can have a tuner tune your car with it, then you can modify anything you want on your responsibility.

Man. There has to be a good tuner in the Oregon/Washington area to take your car to and get your car figured out.

Have Zack email the trans tune to your tuner.

Okay...thanks I was afraid of that

He said it wasn't possible? The Pro-Racer package isn't cheap but worth it if I can enjoy me car again.

Tell me about. This entire process has been a little tough. Eaton Swap equals Fun....Transmission Swap equal NO FUN!!!!!!! I can honestly say it was one of the most psychically demanding things I've ever done. I never never want to do it again.

When I put the car back together I had a annoying minor vibration while the vehicle was in Park and Neutral. At first I thought I was just being to picky and drove the car for a couple of days. That's when I reliazed that my trans tune SUCKS. No joke the part throttle 1st to 2nd shift happens at 4mph. The t/c locks right after the shift into 2nd. I'm in OD with the T/C locked at 34mph. What really scary is as I decelerate it wont down shift or unlock the converter until I'm almost at a stand still. Makes me mad just typing it.

On the third day I was on the Highway and something let loose. The vibration got worse and it made a sickening noise. Luckily it was just the nut on the Alt pulley. It had come loose and the pulley was hitting the motor. $24 later I'm back in business. I take the car to a local transmission guy and he says the vibration is not normal. Its very light and only in Park and Neutral, cant feel it in drive. He thinks its the T/C

Currently I'm not driving the car waiting for a new torque converter to arrive. Chris at Circle D has been very cool and helpful through this entire process.
I just want enjoy my car.

A lot of tuners will not release their to tunes. Keep that in mind.

Darrin @ BC may be able to help you out, he fixed me up.

Maybe I am missing something about your supercharger add on, but it seems fishy that your torque converter would go bad just after the trans rebuild and new blower addition.

Who rebuilt the trans, get the trans schedual figured out first to rule out the possiblity that its not a hydraulic problem.

Also at certain idle rpms the motor can shutter a little, did the tuner change the idle.

Can you describe the shutter, does it make any noise, did you tighten the convertet bolts to the flex plate.

Hope you can get a better trans tune and figure it out.:burnout:

I believe it was the supercharger that caused the original transmission to fail. When I dropped the pan there was a lot of clutch material in the pan. You could right your name with your finger it was nasty.

Darren at BC Automotive sold me a transmission and for the short time I have driven the car it has performed awesome!!!!! Unfortunately he’s not a tuner anymore and was limited on what you could do for me.

I believe the shutter you are describing could also be described as a slight engine miss. The vibration that I was feeling was described by a local transmission shop as a “Rotating Mass” vibration. Because it can be felt in Neutral and Park that leaves the possible causes as the engine, transmission, Flex plate, or torque converter. Because it started after the new transmission was installed logic would dictate it’s not the engine. Because of a miss communication I had to buy a new Flex plate so that seems unlikely but could be. The transmission guy couldn’t think of a reason the transmission would make that type of vibration. He thought it was torque converter.

Chris at Circle D has been very cool through this entire process and is exchanging the torque converter he sold me for new one. This one will fit my org Flex plate so I can eliminate that as a possible cause also.

Can you describe the shutter, does it make any noise, did you tighten the convertet bolts to the flex plate.

I’ve checked the TQ bolts several times. In fact I actually loosened them all, pushed the TQ back into the transmission and re-tighten them making sure to do it evenly. No difference.

Hope you can get a better trans tune and figure it out.:burnout:

Me too!!!!!! My Marauder guardian angel “Zack” thinks he’ll be able to help. I’m crossing my fingers.

Try having the tuner turn off lock up until a specified mph, like 55 or 65. A local guy had his car tuned and that made all the difference in the world!! I don't think the parameter is mph but can tweak it till its right.

Sounds like you are on the right track, I just did not know the history of your project. At least you dont have to spend any more money for the flex plate and another converter. When you pull the old flex plate see if it has any weights compaired to the orignal, or maybe they are neutral balance?

Hopefully someone can get you a good trans file that you like and still keep your engine tune.

Let us know what the problem was so we can learn from your misfortune.

Good luck.:burnout:
