The only part I am missing is the intercooler for my eaton swap. I will be running a frozen boost he unless I decide to do the KC. The question, is the LFP lightning force performance i/c worth $600? Or do I just get a stocker for about 200-250?
Thoughts insight... Thanks! Also located in hot Houston TX.

Just to clarify: Which specific component are you referring to?

The Intercooler is the unit that attaches to the lower side of the blower and nests into the lower intake manifold.

The Heat Exchanger is an external radiator that plumbs into the Eaton cooling system.

The intercooler and heat exchanger are both required for an Eaton swap but the two have entirely different designs, functions, and locations.

As for the intercooler application, compare the OEM photo above to this one. This is a pic of the LFP Lightning I/C, note that the coolant hose inlet/outlet locations are on the top of the I/C versus the front of the OEM unit, so I'm not sure that this could work without some major fab - modifications to the blower and/or LIM mounting points.

I don't think it would be worth the extra coin for the LFP Cobra intercooler. Especially if you are considering a Killer Chiller system. Buy a stock intercooler and take that extra money and put it towards a KC system.

If you do the KC system. You still might want to use a HE with a shut off valve if you live in an area with cold weather. No point in having the A/C system on during the cooler and cold parts of the year.

Sorry for the confusing post it was late. I know the difference betweent the parts. I am looking at intercoolers. The one that lfp sells on ebay looks like a direct bolt in. So I'm lost ont the one with the nipples facing up? I don't have a realcomputer and I am using my cell phone to browse etc until I return home. Can anyone clarify this. If you search cobra intercooler on ebay and sort "by highest price first" you will see it @ around 600 for 03 cobra application. Thinking of using the oem and putting the coin to the kc as mentioned above. Not 100% sure though.

Gotcha!

I went to the LFP website and all I saw listed was the I/C for the Lightning, sorry for the confusion!

Understood about the KC, I'm gonna be talking to the Zackmeiester about that option as well, kinda on the fence. The Type 100 does a great job about 75% of the time; but the other 25% of the time when it's really hot outside, or when the engine is heat soaked, IATs run 130 - 145* and performance sucks.

def not worth the extra coin for the LFP unit, unless you cant find a stocker
