in my SIG i have a few mods im looking to do plugs and boots, do i need to switch heat range or plug gap? im thinking id like to stick with motorcraft since i work at a dealer and i also heard that there some boots with a solid connector instead of the spring type, what do u think? thanks

i also dont know who tuned it or what thermostat is in the car and dont know if its tuned for colder heat range would this be an issue or can i just throw some stock plugs in

If your N/A there is no sense in getting a colder T-stat or plug.

Based on what I've read if your boots are bad go with the Motorcraft for replacement.

I went with NGK cooper plugs, standard heat range. Unless you are having a problem, I would not change heat ranges.

You need a tune to account for colder plugs & thermostat. Otherwise your not going to gain anything.... or lose anything either, and you won't hurt anything.

They aren't boots... they are coil connectors. Boots come with the connectors. Most of us use Granetelli Motorsports connectors, but there are cheaper ones out there.

Granetelli Motorsports connectors i heard a lot of ppl using and makes sense to have a solid connection than a spring type, id like to try those and some OEM plugs, should i just gap them to oem specs?

I gap mine on the lowest side of the factory spec.

how can i tell if the boots are bad or failing

Unless the boot is torn/brittle or broken it should be fine
