Hey Everyone

Just trying to decide my summer tires for the MM. It seems to be warming up here now and we really didn't get a winter so I need to get my winter setup off before too much longer.

Am trying to decide between the Nitto 555 Extreme and Cooper RS3A. I don't mind a wider tire but don't want the speedo off by much and want to keep the ratio correct. I can't find the Coopers available online so I will have to call around and see what I can find out.

We usually get a rainy spring so I need a good wet/dry tire and something preferably easy to steer/soft riding. I also am not looking to change tires every 10K miles...so longevity is more important than dry traction. I don't have any aftermarket mods so am not putting down crazy power and 'try' (key word try) to keep my foot out of it most of the time.

I know there is a member on here with a DTR that has the 555s that look amazing..

I say Coopers the are a high performance all weather tire. Plus they have the correct OE size and are a direct replacement for the BFGs.

I've had the Cooper RS3-A for a week in the OEM size, and they are great - grippy, got me to work in some bad conditions with no drama.

Under $700 delivered to my shop.

No exp with Nittos...

go with coopers, I did and very happy. Excellent grip and treadwear is 500 compared to 400 for the BFG's.

The Nitto's are a very good warm (OK - HOT) weather tire. IMHO their downfall is when it get cool out and they become hard, due to their compound, but they still ride nice.

I have the Nittos 555's on my Marauder . The do ride harder than stock's but when the weather gets cooler they dont grip as good as when it's hot. I'd go with the Coopers, Everyone I know really likes them.

I just replaced my worn out nittos with the coopers and i absolutley love them. next ill be getting a matching pair for the fronts. I had a problem locating them to. The online warehouses were sold out and everyone locally didnt have them and wanted too much money. i ended up getting a brand new pair on ebay with free shipping and worked out cheaper then my local tie dealers wanted.
