Woo-Hoo. The Gateway International Raceway will re-open March 17 under new management as Gateway Motorsports Park. Check their website under the new GMP name.
Anyone else want to show up for opening day? Track opens at 8am. You Kansas City guys now have a place to race, albeit with a drive to get here. Track is just across the river off I-70 at IL 203 exit. No idea of the entrance fee to race. It just doesn't matter.

Fog in the morning. Started racing about 11:15am at 73 degrees. Newly finished track, flatter, smoother, new concrete water box. Huge turnout with heavy # of Mustangs & Camaros...the usual. Since no rubber on the track yet, they kept us to 1/8 mile for timed runs. Rain ended it all at 2pm or so. Interesting, Tech was thorough & slow. New rule: everyone needs a helmet regardless. Snel 2000 is out of date, buy a new one. They approved my car for 11.99 and slower.

I did three runs:
60 foot 1.99 2.18 2.10
ET 8.12 8.50 8.33
MPH 89.94 90.31 91.11

But I don't know how that would translate into approximate 1/4 mile times. Mine was the only Marauder. People really love that car. Two Camaro guys came up to me an said they always wanted one.

Thanks, Waymon. We will see how close we come when they get the 1/4 mile lights on. Want to go this week or Friday nite?

Last night 3/30, I went over to the drag strip and came right back home. Must be really popular. Track opened at 6pm for 8pm racing start. I drove over at 9pm. They were backed up in tech, and backed up at the entrance with poeople still trying to get in. Good for them. Maybe I will try Tuesday night 4/3 for slicks night.

Amazing what happens when no track for a year in a large city. Sure will be nice if when new Track by me finally gets done, Hopefully GIR will remain open so with 2 tracks folks can get more then 2 passes in 6+hrs. Ill bet even higher volume cause with KC closing people from out west coming here to.

It was a sea of white trailers. Does anyone else just drive over there & run what ya brung? I got one run in by 4pm after ariving at 10:30. Rain started so I beat it. But my one run was my personal BEST TIME EVER! Ran 12.19 at 116. For me, awesome. Couldn't be happier.

Let's pick a test and tune night and get the St Louis MM group out there. The track Hamburgers are really good, really. Anyone want to lead a get-together?

1.979 60 foot. I Rolled into it too slow & the Nitto 555 DRs really bit. I have got to get the 60' down.
