If the crank position sensor goes bad will it prevent the fuel pump from engaging making the car not start??:he:help:lp:

No, at first KEY ON, the pump with prime and pressure the system. (you can hear this happen)

A bad crank position sensor gives no reference signal to the PCM what cylinder 1 piston position is in therefore it will not activate the ignition system.

I just put one of these on my Hemi Durango. What a major PITA. I hope the one on the MM is easier to get to.

Of course it wont, if the car doesn't run how is going to throw a code. Let me guess you spent hours trying to figure out why your car wouldn't start. :D

Nope. car is still under warranty,,,so Ford sent a flatbed, picked it up from my garage and dropped it off at the dealer. Damn thing fired right up once it got to the dealer :( Mechanic replaced the crank sensor anyway and have had no further issues with it.
Total cost=$100.00
