I contacted DB and they said they no longer have the parts to make their 250 any more, the highest they have is 220 now, was wondering if any of you guys would be willing to part with it for something??? I really would like to have a 250A for the system i plan on building, THANKS!!

If you don't plan on competing with it then 220 amp would work fine...probably wouldn't notice the difference between the two if not...

Nice, nice... I personally dont like capacitors.... :p BUT you could try dcpower.com They specialize in high output alternators. You could give them a call to see if they make the same type of alternator with the special clutch thingy for wide open throttle.

only reason i grabbed a cap is because my headlights dimmed still with big 3, 220A alternator, all knukonceptz 0 gauge, i had the brz2400 from hifonics on 2 Kicker 2010 CVX 12's

and that dc power website looks like its for industrial batteries and charging systems??? do they do car alts too???

Ehhh i think so. I follow this guy on youtube named exocontrolto and he uses a 270 amp dc power alternator in his van. So i guess so. Wouldnt hurt to call them and see.

If I am not mistaken the P71 with full light, radio, computer, and amplifier
package uses a 250 Amp Alt.
I looked on line and am wondering if this company would fit the bill you are looking
for:

a capacitor is almost a must have if your having a high power audio system im only pushing 2 12' kicker l7 that are 1500 a peice so 3000 with the two subs and when that bass hit those headlights were diming big time and darains battery and alt without it im running a 10 farad digital rocksford fosgate cap and it put a stop to that no sense:D i love my kickers

To the left is the Ford Motorcraft type 4G series heavy duty, high amp alternator paired with a Quicktifier Remote Bridge Rectifier. This addition provides tremendous durability. When added to the heavy duty model 4G series high amp alternator with the upgraded voltage regulator, it creates an unstoppable charging force.

This sounds to be much better than the DB-250 unit. Only issue is finding a home for the external rectifier.

Go find a stock alternator and find a shop that rebuilds them. I am sure you could probably get it rebuilt for high amps alot cheaper then $500. Just a suggestion....hope it gives you some ideas.

Do you know any where it can be shipped to them, because it seems like everybody in sc doesnt want to do anything if its not stock or putting in parts that they sell

Check locally, there has to be an alternator/starter repair place near by where you live. I just had a high output built at a local shop in St Pete. Only piece that is stock is the casing, everything else was new. I paid $375 out the door with, a new non-clutch pulley, battery terminals, and ring terminals for 0 awg to upgrade from 4 awg. All made in the USA parts, rebuilt locally by a reputable shop, and basically a lifetime warranty. It's a 200A that should put out 60+ amps at idle.

My shop could of done up to 260A if I wanted but will only have 800 watts total once my system is in. JL 500x1 into a L5 10", with a 300x4 for my mids and highs. Will have a 2 farad cap on stand by but the 200A alt should get the job done.
