A/C compressor pump

Has anyone taken their a/c compressor off from under the car? I have to unblot mine to get my crank position sensor out and I'm looking for the easiest way to do this.

I just need to unbolt it, not replace it. Wondering whether i can just take the pulley off to get the crank sensor out??

Take the belt off and just unbolt it a little. The bolts are pretty long.
