I always thought the 4.6 had a 1 piece balancer. Anyone ever had or heard of a Marauder with a crank balancer going bad or coming apart?

looks like a a/c clutch asmbley, not a crank pulley there is no key way.

as far as ive ever seen there is no bearings in the dampers, just balacing counterweights.

Duh, I should have seen that. Lack of keyway is dead giveaway.

+1 on a/c clutch, field and pulley. I have seen balancer seperations on 2V GMs and CVs.

Clearly that is not a balancer in the picture

My 2000 Grand Marquis damper started to fail at 100,000 miles. The rubber started going bad and squeezing out. Luckily, I caught it before damage was done. Installed an ATI unit and never looked back. That damper was also driving the blower too.
