So I'm having some brake problems on my marauder. I recently had the front pads replaced and the rotors turned, to get rid of some brake pulsing I was having. This was two or three months or so ago, and the pulsing was gone. The pulsing is back now, under anything but light braking.

I also have some air in my lines that I need to bleed out - pumping the brakes makes them much stiffer and the car easier to stop so I assume that's more than likely air in the system. My question is: could the air in the lines cause something in the brakes to warp the front rotors again? Did the mechanic shave them down too far? Also, they may be aftermarket rotors (bought the car used, and they're slotted rotors - are stock rotors slotted?), so i guess it's possible that their cheap chinese crap, too, right?

I'm planning on bleeding the air (probably swapping the fluid at the same time). Would it be safe to just go ahead and replace the rotors at the same time? Do I need to do pads, too, in order to get rid of the pulsing, even though they're only a few months old?

sounds lik eot me your stock brake lines are balooning all you might need it the tce brake line stainless kit and it does wonders and put some good brake fluid in and that problem should be gone but replacing all the rotors and pads would be a plus but dot sound like you need them just yet i would do the lines if i was you and that should fix it

Replace the rotors and bleed the brakes.

Pulsing is usually caused by high speed braking on crap rotors. They warp as they cool.

yeah, I do alot of long distance highway driving, braking on offramps etc.

Are the stock rotors slotted/drilled? these are, I'm betting they're just cheap rotors?

So hopefully next week, I'll change out the fluid/bleed and change the rotors. Any recommendations, or should I go with OEM?

stock rotors are nice and smooth, no slots or holes, if you get rotors go with r1concepts, many member here run them, and the ss brake lines, while not necessary, give you a nice warm and fuzzy knowing you wont slam into the next idiot that pulls in front of you

OEM rotors are vented. I just recently had my brakes bleed @ Ford where they cycled the ABS unit and got all the air out. Turning rotors that were warped before just allows them to warp even faster again.

If you are sticking with stock size rotors for replacements look into PowerSlot Slotted cryo rotors. Cryo treated rotors are a whole lot less likely to warp because of the cryo treatment. Also might be a good idea to get a TCE stainless brake line kit, it helps increase the pedal pressure.

Ebay has a great selection of rotors and pads.

Look into the R1 Concepts on eBay.

Buy new rotors.

Highly recommend SS brake lines from TCE, a vendor on here.

Flush out the entire system with new brake fluid.

I think you will be more than happy.
