Has there ever been a FSB on these back in the day? Semi-trusted mechanic said he remembers one while diagnosing my front end noise.

He called it FSB. I dunno - the thingy Ford puts out about it's mistakes.

TSB would be a Technical Service Bulletin
or perhaps he's thinking of
FSA which means Field Service Action more commonly called a recall.

I recently inquired about upper control arms at my local Ford parts counter, and the parts guy was surprised at how many revisions were listed. So, perhaps no TSB or recall, but attempts have been made to improve it over the years.
