All you need is a tube of black RTV, thats the way they came from the factory, ford never used a gasket, i always use rtv and mines is bone dry!

Just curious are you running the factory cover, or an aluminum cover:confused:

With the aftermarket girdle the only thing that did it for me was a gasket and RTV.

+1 on the gasket & RTV together when I installed my T/A Performance girdle.....no leaks!

Check to make sure the vent tube is not clogged up. If it is no matter what you do it will still leak.

Also make sure you let the silicone dry before you put oil to it. I use the blue stuff its more oil resistant.

I got one of these with a Summit girdle on mine. Haven't had any issues for over 10k.

This is the stuff to use. http://www.permatex.com/products/Automotive/automotive_gasketing/gasket_makers/permatex_gear_oil_rtv_sealant. htm it will seal it better than the other RTV products.

Use Permatex "Right Stuff" (It is black but not regular black RTV).
The stuff is vastly superior to RTV of any color. It's formulation swells when it contacts oil/coolant and thus does not wash out. It absolutely will NOT leak. I use it in place of gaskets - no leaks - Class 8's, auto, truck, anything.
Also, check the girdle for seepage - thru girdle adjustment stud threads - running to bottom giving the apearance of the cover to diff seam leaking.

+1 on the Right Stuff, i use it on a lot of different parts.
I know Travis put a lubelocker in his rear after the new rebuild, I was asking him what he thought of it, as I was looking into it. He said he's happy with his.
So I might try it out.
