Hi -
I've been looking for battery cut-out solutions to enhance the, factory, key driven security system.
Does anyone have any opinions on something like this (from this month's Hot Rod) ?:

Seems like a hotwire could bypass this as well.
Also, I know that a flat bed would take anything (and I do back in with wheels cocked toward the curb) but I'm looking to make it *that* much harder.

I'd just go with an aftermarket alarm system like the "Viper" which has a stater disable.
Can also add options for additional $$.
Like pin switchs for hood, mercury switch for trunk, battery back up siren, paging....etc.
But as you know if someone wants your Rauder badly they mostly likely will get it......

Just get a secure electric switch (uses a key like vending machines have) and wire in to fuel pump circuit. Install somewhere where access is secreted and there is no access to back side for some one to jump terminals. Very cheap & will work betteer than any high dollar idea! :D
You do not want a battery disconnect on a late model computer controlled vehicle for use as a security device. Disconnect power to the PCM and it has to go through the learning process again. So you're going to deal with a car the doesn't run quite right until it has run for awhile. You'll also loose your accessory settings too. Since that switch is connected to the ignition switch if they defeat it that relay will restore power to the vehicle.
I agree with a hidden fuel pump cutoff.
