This past sunday I was dropping my coins at a toll booth and when the gate when up I did a gradual WOT going uphill, when I reached the top I looked at the speedo and it was just past 85 mph, I am positive this on ramp was less than a 1/4 mile long. How can this be possible ? Uphill, gradual WOT. Maybe the speedo is wrong ? I had to hit the brakes before merging into traffic to keep from hitting the guy in front that was already on the expressway ahead of me. Never had a car that could climb a ramp that fast before !!! :)

What's "gradual WOT?" Either its WOT or its not.

I gradually pressed down on the throtle during the run. did not hold it against the floorboard until about 1/2 way up, after that WOT.

Last time I was at the track I was running 92-93 mph in the quarter, so I'm not surprised you got up to 85 or so without really trying...

Smokie: - I did the same thing and you're right. rather than mash the throttle to the floor, I brought the rpm's up gradually and then floored it. The car just took off and had plenty left before I let up.... you gotta rev these engines ....

The car has more available HP and TQ than it's given credit for

A gradual advance into WOT is the best way to launch the MM with it's stock gearing, 4200lbs isn't easy to motovate from a standing start. That's why many of us went to a 4:10.

Getting on and getting off is part of the best thing of this Marauder!

Last night some geek tried to follow us off the expressway,I hit the O/D off and just kept going.By the time he realized he could'nt hold the road he had to do some serious braking to avoid driving off the ramp.He must of thought if the guy in that big sled does'nt need to slow down why should he?HAHA

At a meet, me and some Crown Vic enthusiasts were entering on the
HWY and feeling frisky I did some hard acceleration and maneuvering
onto the roadway. One of the vics tried to match me and almost
lost it on the ramp. What was a safe maneuver for me was not safe
for them. I was just glad that everything turned out ok. I learned that
I have to keep my cool on the way to the drag strip. :)
If our car is not the ultimate dragster, it is without a doubt the ultimate
highway dominator. You guys who spend alot of time on the road in
your MM are the ones getting the most for your money of all of us.
You really need to jump up to about a $60k car to outdo an MM as
a big traveling sedan.
