FEAD tapping/ticking

A tapping noise that is rpm sensitive started up, I thought of a bearing, maybe in the tensioner this time . got the stethoscope out and it appears to be from the a/c compressor clutch.

Quite possible. Did you shut off the A/C to verify? How about removing the belts?

the culprit was a broken bolt on the lower pulley.
My long time friend, Bobs' Hillview in Lake Barrington helped me out with the repair.
Hillview Bob also suggested a new blower tensioner pulley bearing , but by the time I pay for R&R labor and the bearing, I can get a new Thumper tensioner from Lonnie, like my pal justbob just installed.
