Okay I have always wanted one of the 03-04 cars.
I have some questions?

One is there anything to look out for?

What is a 300a

What is the "base" model they all seem loaded up

Is there any advantage of the 04 over the 03?

do these cars drop in value once they have miles like a lot collector items? I want to drive mine :).

DOES ANYONE HAVE ONE THEY WANT TO LET GO IN THE RANGE OF 15K OR LESS? I AM LOOKING FOR UNDER 150K MILES

Are they more exp to fix than a mustang motor or a grand marquis?

Another question. Does Black on Black bring more money?

You may want to spend some time looking through various threads, as there's bound to be others that have asked and had similar questions answered and posted up, however, regarding your questions:

The cars have a variety of annoying, but minor, electrical issues. Check out topics on the LCM, EATC, and Wacky Wipers. All are easily repairable, and for the most part very cheap if you DYI.

As for 300A vs 300B, check out this thread, the topic has been addressed extensively:
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31102

There were only a couple options offered on the Marauders: a 6 CD Changer, Heated Seats, and (in '04) a Moonroof. Trunk spoilers were a dealer-installed option. Other than that, everything else was standard equipment.

Minor differences between the '03s and '04s, the '04s have dual knock sensors on the engine, and the torque converter has a slightly higher stall speed and the trans has some improved internal components, but everything else is pretty much the same. I've had both model years, and both years are solid, reliable cars.

Marauders really haven't reached collector car status yet, so mileage isn't any bigger an issue than any other car. That said, we have a number of members here that are definitely high mileage that enjoy them daily, with no problems to speak of.

Have you checked out any cars posted in this forum?
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=87

Are they more "expensive" to fix? That's kind of a relative issue, all depends what goes wrong with it. Is a Marauder more expensive to fix than a Mercedes? No. If the engine goes out, is it more expensive to replace than a 4 cyl Ranger engine, yes...;)

Another question. Does Black on Black bring more money?

Black on Black is the most common color. As far as production by color, black is the most common followed by Silver Birch, then Dark Toreador Red, and finally Dark Blue Pearl, of which only 328 were built.

The two rarest color combinations are: DBP with Dark Charcoal interior (117 built), and Black with Light Flint (I'm thinking around 178 or so of that combination).

Is there any advantage of the 04 over the 03?

04's have better paint, higher stall torque converters and dual knock sensors.

04's are a lil quicker than 03's.

I don't think you can state this ^^^^ as a general rule. The difference between them in Stock trim is negligible and minor variations from car to car make the difference at the line is measured in inches .... not feet.

Only going off of what STEVE BABCOCK said at MV9!

Not saying they are 2 or 3 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile or anything.

Just a lil bit quicker. :D

So it's not ME making the statement it's STEVE.
