the car ran when it was parked in June of 09. Iv since rebuilt the motor and got the whole thing buttoned up last night and when i turn the key i cant hear the fuel pump. I found a post on here "dead fuel pump troubleshooting guide" and ran through the 4 steps fuel pump shut off switch, position 5 fuse, position 203 relay, and jumped pins on the FPDM.
Does anyone know what i could have missed while dropping in the motor that would cause this. i was sure i got every electrical connection and iv been looking over it and cant spot anything it turns over and everything else seems to work.

The LCM won't affect the fuel pump. If the car's been sitting for 2½ years, the fuel pump could simply be bad.
Stored since 09? Fuel pump may have gone sour. There is gas in the car?
Also fuel filter may have clogged up. Got to eliminate one thing at a time. I would change the filter first.
If not the problem then pull the fuel pump, not hard to do, don't need to drop the tank just move some exhaust pipes a little by removing the rubber hangers and see what falls off (or out) or corroded.

Bad gas?????
Dead battery? Forget to clip a wiring harness back in place? Wrong key? Wrong car? Just brainstorming here. Battery even hooked up? Ground wire, too?

ya still had a 1/4 tank in her. i pulled the fuel pump plug up into the trunk and tried a few things the plug coming into the FPDM white and black wires (power and ground) had 6.8 volts but when the FPDM is pluged back in i check the brown/white and red (power and ground) coming out and going to the fuel pump i get 1.6 volts. when i put 12 volts direct to the fule pump through the brown/white and red wire it just makes one clunk/click noise... so im pulling the fule pump i guess its bad.

IF you do need to use a fuel line removal tool get the circle kind don't get the ones that look like scissors they are cheap for a reason and don't fit like they are supposed to. The circle kind should come in a multipack kinda like this http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcsstore/CVWEB/staticproductimage//N3491/large/25981318_lis_lis37000_pri_larg .jpg
And not like this

If the fuel pump makes one thump or clunk noise that's good, I think. That's all mine ever makes.
