View Full Version : wheels not pointed straight

Hey guys,
Not sure how this happened but my two front wheels somehow don't point straight ahead. When the steering wheel is pointed exactly straight ahead, I noticed both wheels are not. They're off ever so slightly but you can clearly see the direction of each wheel appears pointed out, away from the car, not straight, like so;

Can someone tell me if this is an alignment issue or what. I had the wheels balanced already to rule that out. Thanks in advance.

Get an alignment done, make sure they check the suspension beforehand.

Got a photo? The factory setting had a buttload of neg. camfer. Helped the thing corner like a Porsche but ate some front tires. Carfixer here has some good numbers for tire saving.

The Carfixer alignment specs do help a lot on inner tire wear. Even after having the alignment done there is still toe out on the front part of the tires.

Toe-in helps with cornering, Toe-out helps with high speed stability. Too much of either one isn't good.

That's weird, usually Marauders have the opposite problem. Get it checked for sure.

Toe out is how it is "supposed" to be according to factory alignment specs. That was done to improve turn in and grip. It is only supposed to be a little though and it shouldn't be totally obvious from looking at it.

+1 on what "ctrlraven" said.

Got my alignment set to "Carfixer" specs and the fronts point out just a hair when the steering wheel is straight. But I got to look from a certain angle to notice this.

Thats about how mine looks now after an alignment with "carfixer" specs used.

If you had Carfixer's alignment done with zero degree of toe and it looks like this, then it is an illusion that your MM has tow out issues. I believe that is part of the design.

That's just an optical illusion......fenders are not straight!!:shake:

Get the alignment checked and I'll bet it's OK!!:beer:

Mine looks the same.

ok, thanks all for the input. maybe a false alarm. i have a slight steering wheel shake and i thought this might be the cause. Got the wheels balanced too, so i'll keep troubleshooting, get alignment checked, look at suspension, tie rod, ball joint, etc.

If you have BFG's on the front THEY are your shaking problem!!:mad2:

+1 The inner tire wear / cupping will do that. Normal for the MM
