Windy City to Louisville Convoy

Okay guys -the Louisville meet is getting close and I am really excited about it. First time I am going to be able to make it to Louisville (for pleasure purposes!) in three years and I know I have alot of catching up to do :banana2:

I know a couple of guys are leaving on Wednesday but I cant make that due to work obligations. So I am hopefully going to be leaving Thursday morning and I am trying to find out who else might be going and would want to hook up for the ride down.

I am right off 294 /1-80 merge at Halsted street about 10 minutes from the Indiana Border and I-65. The time in the morning right now is open but I am trying to get down in time to check in and then head to the German Restaurant feast :)

Post up if you want to convoy down to Louisville. Time is currently open but Louisville is about 5-6 hour drive taking it easy. ( I will try to edit this post as people post up)

I am aiming for Wednesday. But that's 50/50 as of now. I wont know until its closer to the event time. But if I leave Thursday. I was thinking of leaving about 5 or 6 A.M. and would take me about an hour to get to your area.

Man. So many Chitown fellas and many will not be there.

There is a hotel parking lot right off of 294 at Halsted Street south on the right hand side. It's the old Homewood Hotel and I have met Justbob and a couple of guys there before and it seems to be pretty easy. I would like to suggest that site if it is okay with everyone. Otherwise we could do the Lincoln Oasis right on 294 East just past the old rock quarry before you hit 394. Either one would be great. As for time I am waiting to see how many others might sign up before we set it.

Allright guys -just went out and bought some Cobra walkie talkies -these are really cool!

I presume we are going to meet up at 8:00 am -Thursday morning at the 294 Tollway Halsted street exit southbound -at the Homewood Hotel parking lot (right hand side). There is a Dunkin Donuts right near their for coffee and then we can head out.

Knine -Can you make it around 10:30-11 am? I really dont want to leave later as I want to get down to check in-clean my car up and make it for German night if possible. Let me know and below is some directions that should make your trip easier and a little shorter.

If you take the Monee/Manhattan road east to 1-57N and then take 57n to Sauk Trail -Take Sauk Trail east till you get to the McDonald's near Chicago Road (Right hand side) I can meet you there. We can then take the backway down to Indy -bypass Rt -30 and all the lights and jump on 1-65 off of route 10. It is alot quicker and a nicer drive. Let me know.

Mercman we are not going to be in Indy at that time so we will definitely catch up with you down there my friend.

Everyone seems to have there own time they want to leave so alot guys bowed out. Justbob left today with some people and I know Z-man is down their already. It looks like me and you and possibly Steve if he comes.

The McDonalds is in Steger/South Heights -you will be going through Matteson, Richton Park, Park Forest-past the Forest Preserve. Just keep going as it is the only Mc. Donalds you will see on the right side as you head east. It is a little bit of cruise. i will PM you with my cell #. See ya tomorrow.
