Well something I don't like about these baer brakes is anything over 40MPH if you are on the brakes even just a decent amount I get pretty good steering wheel shake/front end shudder.

I'm not sure where to start if its these baer drilled/slotted rotors are warped or something in the suspension up front.

Anyone else have this problem with the baer brakes? If so I assume I'd have to buy new baer rotors as I'm assumming stock rotors aren't going to work with a baer upgrade?

Warped rotors happen all the time, to all cars, probably have to buy Baer rotors, or suitable substitute. Other causes are the bushings , ball joints, or just the vibration from the engine slipping back and forth on its mounts. If the suspension is all good, and your brakes have been machined or replaced, and the shudder doesn't disappear, have the rear mount checked....Just my opinion.....:D

Warping and cracking, too, of drilled Baer rotors has been documented here and avoiding the drilling of rotors recommended by some users in the past. High performance brake pads and rotors can be a problem as pad material will have a tendency to deposit on the rotors if you sit with your foot on the brakes after hard braking. The feeling is exactly the same as warped rotors but can be remedied by using the pad break in process of a series of threshold braking near stops. I experienced this with my Willwood big brakes on the track. Avoiding cooking the pads onto the rotors was the answer. Dennis

I'll give it a shot... but it seems much worse than warped rotors as I've had plenty of vehicles mainly fords with brake problems. My wife's 2010 edge with 30K miles on it already needed pads/rotors on all 4 corners.

I'll report back after doing some good stops on the brakes and see what happens. If I can't fix it I'll probably just put the front back to stock and sell the baer stuff because its more than annoying :)

the DBA's are much nicer then the baer crap. youll notice as soon as you seem them side by side

i should also note they have over .010 run out on each side. and this was only a few thousand miles AFTER they were turned. the car shook horribly and would feel like it was falling apart when braking with the baers.

bottom line, get the DBA rotors, they are NOT cheap but worth it, youll be able to throw yourself through the windshield

I bought the DBA rotors for my Baer setup, they are expensive, but you will not be sorry

Hmmm I'll have to consider it, I tried the break in procedure again... still shakes pretty darn violently. This weekend I'll get underneath and check tire rods/ A-arms, ball joints but they shouldn't have problems only has 43K miles on it but will do just to make sure.

its worth a look at 500 bucks for a set of rotors

Yeah I paid over $600 with my pads, but i could tell you, the Baer rotors on the trilogy I bought were severely warped and made the whole front end feel like it was going to jump off the road.

^^^ If it ends up being the brakes, I'll return the front to stock for 200 bucks for calipers/rotors/pads and sell the baer stuff. I don't track the car so I don't really NEED performance brakes and in the future I'll probably just get some slotted rotors.
