Hello everybody I just got a 03 marauder with 102.000 miles on it and after the car gets warm I hear a ticking noise or some sort of knock. Has anyone ever went through this already I hope its not a rod knock, when I give it gas it goes away smh

Notorious head tick. Normal and common so you'll have to learn to live with it.

Mine did it with no variation for 57K miles across two and a half years. Never felt like it lost power, never spent oil, etc....

Same here I notice mine has the slight ticking noise at idle when I'm standing by the front area.
I thought it might be a sticky lifter or valve(s) out of adjustment on the engine passenger sideas as the tick is more prevailant on this side. I'll take Blackend300a advice and learn to live with it.
I still have plenty of horses and no signs of oil burning/plugs fouling.

Most defiantly will sometime in the near future, for the rims http://southjersey.craigslist.org/pts/2903977714.html
a lil steep, but good price for them compared to what they are going for on the site, hit him up and see if he still has them. And post up some picks of the car in the new welcome forum (if you didn't already that is)
just for reference this is how my sounds now got louder of the months but now power lost that I can notice.

I just had this happen on my car, although it sounded more knock like to me, at least when listening to the exhaust under the car. I had a short warranty on it from when I bought it so I took it to the dealer. It was a problem with a valve, I have read that this usually happens to the drivers side head but mine ended up being the passenger side.
So, at least according to the dealer I went to, even being quiet and with no power loss it is definetly not supposed to be there. Once I get my car back I plan on doing the rear cooling mod to hopefully keep it from happening again.

This. that's how I felt when I started hearing it more often but then I thought to myself boost and a stroker is the future will also get cooling mod done when ever I get to pulling the engine out.
Hey DV2.5;
Ticking noises from our engine have to be further investigated so as to determine if the cause(s) require repair or can be left alone.
According to one authoritative source, several anomalies have been found to cause engine ticking. Worn or loose chain guides and or tensioners. Worn valve guides, but the most serious is a lifted valve seat, broken valve or holed piston.
Do a vacuum check followed by a compression and leak down check. Check your oil for contaminants (plastic or metal shavings). If these are all OK and your car is running normal, then fluff up your pillow and go back to sleep, all is OK, for now.

Guys I've been investigating a Marauder for a friend here and I have found he has lost compression on 2 cylinders. After doing extensive research I have come across this.

It is due to a cooling problem causing issues with the valve guides from what I understand. Does anyone know somebody on this thread who had to have work done to correct this condition? I am told that you can have a machine shop perform some sort of "cooling system fix" in the cylinder head as well as install a set of brass valve guides and re-seat the heads to fix the problem.
I would not like to get my Marauder with that kind of engine noise :(
You can also check for a leaking exhaust manifold, sometimes this can make some sort of ticking noise.
