Wuz up guys!!! I have a few questions and I would like my MM.net Members to give me there feed back......I'm a young male that is working hard to make ends meet. I have a 2003 MM black with flint insides!! Im in LOVE with her!! She was stolen from my house and I found nothing but the back window on the floor in the morning. The police found it and I have been stuggling to get her back on the road ever since.......The steering column is busted they stole both head lights they took the battery, busted the back driver side window and took the rims and tires!!!! :mad2::mad2:.....Now my question to you guys..... Should I 1. Keep the car and fix it back up or 2. Sale it :bigcry: (as is) and include the things that I have bought already.
Advise please!!!!

The only thing that will cost is rims and tires I'm gonna say about 2k. Everything els is nothing to it. I say take your time and restore it and next time make sure you've got some security hook up to it. I would like to know how it got stolen?. I would never for any reason sell my dream/hobby/baby

Based on what you described as being 'in the wind' the wheels are going to be the real big expense if you choose to use MM OEM. You might find a used set here or on e-bay types places. I'd say fix it up as your budget allows.

Could also buy a set of cheap steelies from a crown vic until you get the cheese for MM rims.

Keep it unless it is a financial burden. Obviously you have to do what you have to do in order to get by. Don't let a machine ruin you financially, that's what ex-wives are for. ;)

+1 on that... these cars are on this site and others... gotta get to work to keep the job that pays for these things... Unless you are financially able then let her sit till you have the time / money.
What you need to get it back on the road?
back window $250
4 steelies with used tires $400 tops
steering column... bet you could find one try pm bigcowl-imp he is parting out 2 MM or pm bodyman he may have one too...
again, do whats financially the best option for you TODAY!

Part it out??? Comeon man we already loose a few a week from attrition please dont do that. I like what others said backburner till things get a little better. Everyone is in there own position so for me to say sell/keep isnt my place. Sounds like you appreciate youres like the rest of us selling may become hard. Best of luck.

Id say keep it and fix as funds become available. Put together a little game plan of what needs to be fixed and fix those maybe from the least expensive first and work your way up.
But lifes priorities take center stage so if you have to sell, well post an add on here as I am sure someone would snatch it right up.

You can buy the matching Mustang rims cheaper than the marauder rims which might save you a few bucks. It might also be cheaper also to fix it back up over time than to try buying another one.

There are knock off MM rims at Autozone and JC Whitney, etc. Don't know anyone that has tried them yet. But they are cheaper and might at least give you the look of a MM.

But they are cheaper and might at least give you the look of a MM.Their are past threads on those rims. The center cap size is a little different so you can put something else in it. It's also made a little different. Do a search and you can read up on any differences .I know Ford sell's them, I dont know anything about the Auto Zone or JC Whitney ones .

+1...The battery, steering column and window are relatively cheap compared to most MM OEM parts, I'd get a set of cheap steelies and build your MM back up as your income allows you too. Look at the bright side..you got your MM back! Best of luck!

These are most likely not forged but cast.
The Mustang wheels have a different center cap size. They are close but the Godshead center cap will not sit flush.

That is exactly what I would do. You cant see the wheels outside when youre behind the wheel inside. You are going to be one of the few people who know that it doesnt have the factory rims on it.
Everyone else will think its a Grand Marquis until you blow their doors off.

For what it's worth, light flint interior on black exterior is a rare combination.

This is what I was getting to - According to the documentation that I got with my certificate, there were only 115 03 Black's with Light Flint.
You've got a rare Marauder. If you can stick it out, I'm sure that you won't regret it.
Also, at 50 years old, I'm still kicking myself for selling cars that I had when I was "young".

It appears that you really don't want to get rid of your MM; I imagine you'll be able to figure out a way to make 'things happen'...just be patient. Whether it's 1 month or 1 year from now, when you finally get it to where you want it, you'll appreciate it that much more.
It may not be easy, so good luck!

Alright guys. I remember the days when we'd all pitch in and paypal some funds for someone who blew their motor, etc. Lets help this guy get his beloved MM back on the road. Even 10 bucks from a lot of members adds up fast. You spend more on that on coffee a week.
1st, verify. Sorry, but we all have to double check ourselves. Someone in the area that can see his car and verify it's condition? I'm willing to make a donation to help him get it back on the road.
Pick a part and help him track down the stuff he needs. example: steering column with key.............$130 by bigcowl-imp http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=76958
Lets prove that we are a community of Marauder lovers not just wiseasses and dick jokes / gay jokes. Lets pull together and help each other out.

If you can't afford it like anthing else it will end up being a nightmare. Only get what you can afford and if that means a pair of keds so be it.
There is always another day when you will be able to afford it. Don't be a slave to some thing you can live with out.
