Thinking about buying. I have worked out a MUCH better sale price with the seller right at book value.
What are your thoughts on the car. The drivers seat shows a little wear and the underside of the front bumper has some damage, but nothing too major.
Heated seats is nice.
Any other thoughts before I make the couple hundred mi trip tomorrow to take a look at it?

Doesn't look to bad from the pics. The leather doesn't look like it was well taken care of and it looks as though the rear seat was extensively used. Our back seat looks factory new but then again I can count the bodies that have sat back there one one hand.
I'm curious about the Christmas tree air freshener. I wonder if the previous owner was a smoker. That's a hard aroma to get rid of.
Rust on the engine is typical. Check underneath real good and the lower inner door panel for more than just surface rust.
If you buy it I would get it professionally detailed.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.:)

It's a Marauder....WIN!
It's a SB....WIN WIN!!!
Good luck! If you buy it, you should consider bringing it to Louisville so all of the 'experts' can look at it....
Like I've said before, silver IS the new black! :burnout:

I agree. however, I need a car pretty quickly so would feel comfortable paying book value. If i could afford to do without, I would hold out for a better deal.
Have you seen my old CV sport lately, I believe you said last time you saw it was at University of Chicago.

Nice car at a decent price, everyone wants a high value on these cars, but wants to pay peanuts! cant have it both ways.

I'm thinkin' come in with $7K and work up.
The miles are not that bad and I don't see anything that indicates "Salvage".
She's a good looking SB - Get some maintenance records if you can. Looks like the car has been well cared for (Hi Mileage or not).
Run a CarFax on it and drive it through a (front and rear) puddle.
If front and rear tires "track" straight, you have no frame damage (I think).

I just re-looked at the car and it (she) looks better than mine:
My previous owner was "Edward Scissorhands" (scratches!).
I would say that it's worth the drive (start at $7K).

Well I just got back from looking at the car. I did not buy it. It just had too many issues for me to pay book value for.
Things wrong:
SEVERE rust on LR door, would need to have door replaced
Rt quarter panel had been repainted at one time
Lt fender had been replaced at one time
smokers car with some holes in door panel and carpet
It did have new tires and was mechanically sound, but with the above issues, it just wasn't for me. Now that I'm back home, I'm glad I walked away.

Looks like the exhaust tips were uneven, passenger side pushed too far in...?
And the gauge surround on the dash...that's not the original color (or is it, for SBs?)
