Like many other MM owners, my LCM relays had started turning off my lights as I was driving at night and sometimes coming on (but not very often) if i banged on the unit. Basically scared to even drive at night and be stuck with just the foglights.

I searched and read an old thread where fastblackmerc had offered to repair with an external relay for only $50. He's a man of his word, providing what he promised, when he promised. I just installed it today and, although I haven't driven at night yet, I covered up the sensor and drove around for a while and it never shut off :)

Thanks Jim! You're a part of what makes this site successful.

Jim is more than just a man of his word... He is a life saver!

My dealer wanted over $ 1300 for the LCM repair. Jim did a great job, in less than a week (my door, to his door, back to my door), and all for $ 50 bucks.

I make it a point every time I go to my dealer to rub it in.

Thanks Again Jim...

Jim is awesome. I did my own work on the LCM (with the help of a friend), and Jim was here answering questions for me the whole time I was doing the work. Great guy!

Jim did mine in the paddock at SSHS11.
Awesome fix. Killer price.

Actually had the same problem with my '02-F-150 coming to work this morning--so I have PM'd Jim to see what he may be able to do for that beauty as well---and yeah--he is the man!!!!!

$1300? Holy cow! That is so wrong!

I haven't had any problems, YET. But at 10 yrs old and 133k miles, I would think I'm due. Do all our cars eventually have this issue? I don't want to wait for this to happen for safety's sake. My wife drive's the car too sometimes.

Mine wasn't bad, I just figured for the cost it would be silly to wait until I had headlight issues since I mainly use my MM for road tripping. Nothing worse than being out of town with auto problems.
When Jim finished my lights were so much brighter I had to re-adjust them. I had installed HIDs and after his upgrade people started flashing me like my high beams were on.
