Hello everyone. New to the forum. Car is getting exhaust from the manifolds back. Two high flow cats into a x pipe into magnaflow mufflers. I plan on reusing the factory tips. I agreed on having my exhaust guy fab everything in 2.25 diameter pipe...but is that a sufficient size? The car is bone stock. I know everybody goes for 2.5 but will a 2.5 inch pipe fit directly to the factoy manifolds? Help me out. It's getting done Tuesday so I wanna let him know if I'm gonna switch to 2.5. Thanks, chris

Any good muffler shop can increase or decrease pipe size not a big deal. Stock exhaust is good to apx 400hp. I think 2.25" is stock. If you do anything you want 2.50". Also if you do a X mid pipe you will get drone. Go with a mid muffler or H pipe. Do a search on exhaust drone.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on keeping the car relatively stock. I don't plan on doing anymore more than a Cai and a tune. I'm assuming when you say if I do anything you obviously mean significant changes such as a supercharger or internal motor modifications? What about the manifolds? will the flange even allow me to bolt a 2.5 inch pipe to it? Or will it be too big.

Muffled x pipe? I'll have to reasearch that. Probably has packing similar to their mufflers.

What's the biggest pipe size that the factory manifolds will accept? Anyone know? What have you done?
