Hi -

I have an iPOD interface that allows for the iPOD to play through the stereo.

Recently, the iPOD locked up and I had to reset it.

Now, I can't use the "Next" button on the steering wheel (or next track on the radio) to select the next track.

Any hints on getting this to work again?

Thanks,

Mark

I have to believe its an iPos issue. My controls did that before my iPod crashed. But after I restored my iPod everything worked fine. Never had an issue with with my iPhone's iPod.

Try another restore on your iPod.

I have the Pie interface.

My brother just plugs his cassette adapter into his IPad or IPhone and into the cassette player. Works fine for me.

Does the interface make it sound crappy?

Sounds way better than the radio or cd player.

Its just one of those cassettes at Wally World that has a wire that comes out of the cassette that plugs into any headphone capabile device.

You stick the cassette into the cassette player. Its old school and sometimes old school works just fine.

I put the factory radio in a box and replace with an Alpine radio/cd and a steering wheel adaptor kit

Do you still have the factory radio installed? I could not find an adapter that interfaced with the factory radio

I have no interest in this company but I found that there customer service was very good and they always get me the right PIE adapter kit at a good price.

Plus they ship fast.

Question....

I have a PIE interface and mine has a box with RCA inputs. Is there a different box I can get with an IPOD specific cable?

I'm sick of using the 3.5mm in my ipod and iphone.

On another note. I just bought this power converter cable so now my PIE interface charges my iPhone too.

I bought this power converter too and it works really well too. charges my iPhone on my PIE interface.

But I wanted a cable instead so I bought this.

Some of the newer PIE pieces do not require the power adapters.

This adapter appears to make the stock radio actually useable, since it lets you use the steering wheel controls to control the iPod:

Unfortunately, it doesn't give you the steering wheel controls if you've done the swap to a CD-6 head unit. For that feature, you have to use a stereo with external 6-CD control (CDDJ).

You stick the cassette into the cassette player. Its old school and sometimes old school works just fine.

I did this since just before a road trip to Montreal with someone I don't particularly like.
Yes, it plays iPod/iPhone/whatever-brand-mp3-player through your stock radio.
But, the tape player makes a bit of noise itself, plus the adapter I picked up (for $5) is kinda noisy too, what with all of the mechanical parts rotating and such. You can crank up the volume and drown out the noises, sure - but after a while, you might want to turn it down a bit at which point you're reminded why you turned it up.
Plus, the cable is a bit of a pain as it dangles all over the place, plus you have to take your eyes off the road to hit next track. Plus, the audio quality is no better than an old fashioned casette - which isn't terrible, but is not like a CD.

So, for $5 it works but it leaves a LOT to be desired.

Check my post above.

Or here, since it's still in my paste buffer: http://www.ipodcarpros.com/p444/FRDC/PC-POD2%285v%29/product_info.html

This seems like the right adapter - BUT CALL THEM FIRST! Because the site seems pretty specific about which vehicles it will work with.

This is awesome! I need one of these for my old HarmonKardon Go+Play.

Was this the only such cable you could find? Damn, they're all the way down under! Or, is it Down Under? How long did it take to get to your door?

It was the only power converter cable I could find. They shipped it March 25 and I got it today April 5. Pretty quick all things considered.

I did ask them how long to ship and I was told 8 to 10 days, but once in a great while it's take 10 to 20 days to make it over here.
