Hey everybody out there in CAM land! My employer is having an open house on the 19th of May! You may be wondering where I work? I'll get to that in a minute. I am communicating with the people in charge to find out if we can have a dedicated area to park and the logistics involved to gather everyone at our location. What's on the agenda you ask? All I will say now is that there will be a live fire demonstration; M1 Abrams, Bradley, Stryker MGS... and some other stuff that'll rock your world! If you think this sounds like fun, post a response, and I'll follow through with the planning. Oh, here is a link to where I work.

Hey everybody out there in CAM land! My employer is having an open house on the 19th of May!

Is this gonna be an Open House for the public at large? If not, it may be difficult getting folks into the Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) without badging and/or visit clearances.

I am familiar with M1 Abrams and M2/M3 Bradley. Not so much so with the Stryker. I've seen lots of live fire exercises .... most impressive "at night". Helicopter live fire is tops for an air demo barring the "fast movers".

Yes, I'm interested if the logistics work out.

I would love to see an air demo! We usually have these demos for friends and family, but our colonel likes to open them up to the general public occasionally. Security will be a factor as always...no photos allowed!

Only if you can complete the 19K M1 Armor Crewman course before May 19th. This assumes that you ace Basic Training in record time. All you have to do is cram 15 weeks of training into 6 weeks. :P

Here's the Specs and the Quals >>>>> http://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/browse-career-and-job-categories/combat/m1-armor-crewman.html

Where's CamLand?

CAM = Capital Area Marauders. Roughly anywhere within about 150 miles (or 2+ hours) of Washington, DC. Sometimes even further. You are in CAMLand if you want to be.

Generally, the CAM area includes Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, and mid-to-south New Jersey.

I was wondering this as well.

I will talk to the g/f this weekend and see if she has anything planned for that day and report back.

I found out some news today...not good, but not all bad. The preliminary news that the demo is open to the public is not yet decided...sorry for the confusion. There are two facets to this demo, and both sides haven't determined whether or not to allow the general public in as of yet. Stand fast, and keep the day open in case something changes. As of now it is a family of employees event. Many of you know that the government is always changing things, and if I hear any different, I will let you all know ASAP!
