So my car was broken into last weekend and now i have to replace the door handle and the key hole cylinder. I got stuck trying to take the door handle off because there are some funky looking screws i have never seen before. I have posted 2 pics, 1 is of the funky screws on the outside that are under the door handle and the 2nd pic is of the funky screws on the inside after the door panel was removed. I need to remove the handle, install the new key hole cylinder and then install the new handle. How in the freak do i get the screws out that are holding the door handle? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Those are rivets.
Break off the ears, knock out the center stud and you should be able to remove the rest of the rivet.
Use 1/4-20 stainless steel bolts, washers and nyloc nuts to secure the new door handle.
Hope you weren't affected by those tornadoes..........

Thanks Jim, headed back down to the garage now. The tornadoes was headed towards my job in Richardson and we had to take cover but thats about it. I will let you know how it turns out with the door handle replacement. Thanks again.

OK FBM, i broke off the rivets but now i cant remove the center stud, I tried hammering them out but they arent moving.
You need to hammer out the "pin" from the outside of the car.

I've also done them from the inside.

Thanks FBM and EMAS, i got the rivets out now i just need to go get the bolts from autozone. Thanks for the exact measurements FBM, you probably saved me about 45 minutes that would of been used searching for the size of the bolts needed.
