So I thought I would post this and see if I could get some feedback.:flamer:
My G/F,partner, plan on moving back down South, hopefully in 2013.
We're both from Florida but could never live there again:help:.
Thinking Charlottesville Virginia. Right in the mountains,1/2 way between New England and FLA, decent size city and hopefully jobs.
So who know what ??
Give me what you have and I will give it to her:bows:

Also VA has inspections,do I need all 4 felines ???
Thanks.....
Doug

I don't think there is emissions there. If there is, No you don't need felines. Just have to have no check engine lights and something that looks like felines.;) http://www.deq.state.va.us/Programs/AirCheckVirginia.aspx

My neighbors daughter and her family recently moved there and they love it. She says there is a lot to do as the University is there. Haven't been myself but by the way she describes it it sounds like a nice area .

Correct .... the emissions requirement only applies to the Northern Virginia areas/counties/cities nearest to DC.

Here's an extract from the DMV site >>>>

"Emissions Inspections
Requirements
Would you like to...
•Find an emissions inspection station
Your vehicle must meet Virginia's emissions inspection requirements if it is garaged in one of the localities listed below:

•the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, or Stafford
•the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas or Manassas Park"

Charlottesville, VA is a college town. The University of Virginia (UVA) is there. Nice area and fairly convenient for east-west travel on I-64 or north-south on US29 or I-81. Not sure of the prices; but I'd suspect that they are considerably less (~ 20% ??) than in Northern Virginia in the counties listed above. Have heard that quite a few celebrities live in the area or have homes around there.

Location is about 1.5 hours (90 miles) south of CAM Land and the Manassas, VA area. Add another hour for most CAM events since Manassas is about on the southern fringe of CAM.

Population is approximately 45,000 (city itself). Add the burbs and its probably closer to 90,000. Info on Charlottesville is here >>>>>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlottesville,_Virginia

Charlottesville is home of University of Virginia - college town - major parties. Good place to live centered between Richmond (stste capitol) and Lynchburg. Near skyline drive and blueridge parkway. Winter weather cold but not brutal.
As to state inspections, they do a visual on all cars - you need at least one set of cats. Virginia requires front license plate as well as rear; window tint 35% max.
Good place to live. Best of luck.
